First of all, thank you for providing more detail about why an item is declined; it is such an improvement over the previous boilerplate statement to review the Guidelines.

However, stating that my item was declined because "we were unable to accept your submission as we were unable to verify the information provided." is not applicable to my submission, as I did not provide or ADD any information to the item; I simply edited it [from Chuck Jones once said of "What's Opera, Doc?",  to Chuck Jones once said of this short,] to remove the self-reference to the title per IMDb Trivia Guidelines, excerpts of which are copied below (underlining and bolding added):

If you mention a ... title ... that is also listed on IMDb, you must use the [link=title number] to automatically create a hyperlink to the relevant page. 

however 

There is no need to create self-referential ... links, i.e. links to the title that the submission is actually attached to. Usually "the film", "this film", "the movie" etc. is sufficient.

I would say that my substituting "this short" for the title is a "sufficient" edit to be accepted, as there is nothing to verify that wasn't already there.
