#220102-231452-791000 declined
Looking for a reasonable explanation for this denial. I submitted a trivia addition for Lola Petticrew stating:
Lola identifies as queer and nonbinary, stating "I use they and she. I prefer they but I don't mind she".
I'd have preferred to put it under their mini biography, but it wouldn't meet the minimum word count, so I went with Trivia instead. The following Additional Information was provided, including sources:
Lola Petticrew spoke about being a queer actor in a couple different interviews in 2020, and spoke about being nonbinary in a 2021 interview with the Irish Independent.
SOURCES

Addition came back declined due to "Does not meet contribution guidelines." I went and looked at the contribution guidelines for trivia, and it stated that the following are reasons why a trivia anecdote would be declined.
- Your opinions: Please do not include personal opinions and try not to use subjective descriptions ("in this great movie...", "Chaplin's superbly comic performance...", etc).
- Rumors: Unsubstantiated rumors cannot be accepted, although some early casting rumors can be interesting - so long as they're documented and verifiable (please include a link to your sources wherever possible).
- Anything defamatory.
- 'Gutter press' scandal and gossip.
- Low entries in movie lists
As you can see above, nothing about this submission falls under any of those categories. It is not a matter of my own opinion: Lola Petticrew has stated their sexuality and gender themself in their own words, as shown in all the linked articles. It is not a rumor, nor could it possibly be construed as defamatory, scandal, or gossip—again, it's their own words, and it is not defamatory to recognize someone's gender identity.
I would very much like to know IMDb's reasoning as to how this fails to meet contribution guidelines. Particularly as the insinuation that properly noting an actor's gender identity and pronouns is somehow offensive or "gutter press", is extremely disturbing. And given that this is the second nonbinary actor I've tried to make edits on to properly identify them, and both times have been met with denials, I'm starting to see this as a pattern.
EDIT 1/5: I should add that two quotes from Lola about their gender and sexuality which I submitted have now been approved, so that's something. However, this does not change the fact that adding the simple information of their gender identity and pronouns has still been denied. So I would still appreciate some kind of help or explanation with this.

Hi btianomohr -
I can confirm that the reason why the trivia item was rejected was because it included quotes. Quotes should only be listed under the "Personal Quotes" section.
We do allow trivia items referencing gender identity, so I encourage you to resubmit the trivia item without the quoted content as just "Identifies as queer and nonbinary".
Cheers!
