20-plus Years of personal Images VANISHED!

Attn: iMDB Staff

I've been a member for over 20 years and every last image associated with my account is gone. Care to explain? Because this feels slightly nefarious.

Hi, Lawrence Bucher. I'm not a member of the IMDb staff, and a I see that your message is addressed thereto, but I might guess that the problem at hand probably has to do the claim upon nm1197142 being lost for some reason. So, do you have a publicist who manages IMDb content? If so, have you contacted this person to inquire about what might be occurring? Or might you have multiple agents?

I took a closer look, and I see that the claim upon nm1197142. hasn't been vacated, being as it is that rm538061313 is locked to the particular IMDb name entry. I do wonder if the missing photographs were non-IMDbPro images, such as having been supplied by IMDb image partners rather than being featured images under the control of whoever is managing the page. I agree that there should be some kind of internal record of what happened. However, I should point out that it isn't unusual for the IMDb staff to direct IMDb customers to initiate certain kinds of inquiries via https://help.imdb.com/contact rather than on this public forum where staff and volunteer contributors work together to solve mysteries or coordinate database edits.

Hi @lawrence_bucher -

Doing as @jeorj_euler recommends can be useful as we usually wont delete images unless is from the page owner request or they have something that breaches our policy which I don't think it's the case here. We can also reinstate them but you will need to contact us, the same as the deletion request was made.

Cheers!

@Bethanny —  I’m a sag-sanctioned producer,  and have been with IMDB long to know that they are thorough and second-to-none regarding paper-trails and thumbprint on secondary activity; agents, managers, publicists. And since iMDB is unambiguously aware there’s been no outside activity related to my account, why would I need to mention again regarding “deleted photos” since the staff clearly sees I’m addressing this publicly?

Hi, Bethanny. Perhaps you could arrange for one of your colleagues to send an email from IMDb to the creator of this thread?

… And my vanity url is also gone. Wowza.

20 years of seamless navigation obliterated in the blink of an eye, ironically as I’m on the cusp of penning a series deal.

All very strange. Let’s hope it’s fixable. But an explanation would go a long way here.
