Poll Suggestion: The Movies That Never Were

For all the movies Hollywood makes, there's a lot they don't. Poor writing or budget concerns can cause tons of ideas to be rewritten or scrapped.

This list consists of some terrific and horrific films that were tossed in the trash. Which one would you like to have seen?

List: https://www.imdb.com/list/ls099495711/

Please suggest!  I know there's probably tons, so I will probably make a Part 2 in the future.

Cowboys & Aliens (2011)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0409847/reference
A spaceship arrives in Arizona, 1873, to take over the Earth,
starting with the Wild West region.
A posse of cowboys and natives are all that stand in their way.
Daniel Craig ... Jake Lonergan
Harrison Ford ... Woodrow Dolarhyde

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0409847/trivia
The film bombed at the box office and went down as one of the worst films of 2011.
Due to poor box office results, a sequel didn't happen.

Knowing Kubrick, this Napoleon film would have probably been 6 hours long.

I'd add it, but from what I see online it's just one of those that is "taking a really long time."
I don't see anything about it having started production, then being officially cancelled/shelved.

Narnia,

We've had problems with a few threads temporarily disappearing when we edit the title. I will edit the title so long as you understand that this thread may disappear briefly.

Narnia,

For your consideration:

Forbidden Planet
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1317479/
This is a re-imagining of MGM's classic Sci-fi film, 'Forbidden Planet'. J. Michael Straczynski's abandoned the original script when it was leaked onto the internet. James Cameron showed interest in directing a complete re-write of the script.

Jackie Robinson biopic but without Denzel Washington. Jackie died at the age of 53 and Denzel is 65 years old. He's far too old to play an active baseball player (or even Jackie - post-baseball career).

or

Guillermo del Toro's At the Mountains of Madness. I'm in a cosmic horror phase. Especially H. P. Lovecraft, where most adaptations of his movie and this subgenre of horror are utter Razzie worthy sewerage. We need del Toro's very talented storytelling ability to build this horrifying bleak world into cinematic history.

Also: You typoed  Guuillermo de Toro's name.

Thanks for the typo warning!

At the time of Jackie Robinson's production, Denzel was probably younger.  That's the point of the poll; not movies that could still be, but ones from the past that we will never see.

I went for the Robinson picture. A story that should never go away and an interesting actor in the lead.
