Live Poll: TV's 10 Least Necessary Character Deaths According to FormulaTV

Character deaths in fiction are usually a divisive matter. When done right, they serve as a means to further the plot. When done wrong, they're controversy magnet, with accusations of killing the character only for shock value likely to arise. Spanish television website Formula TV compiled 10 character deaths that didn't really need to happen; which of them do you think could have been avoided? See list Poll: https://www.imdb.com/poll/2GZl-kthduc/

Yes I did. Been a while since the last one, though. (Side note: I'm a guy. Efra is short for Efraim)

@EfraGarcia59: Sorry! I had heard of Efra as a female name before and carelessly went along with that.

To Albstein's defense: I'm sorry, but I first associated your name automatically as female, too. I think it's a matter of how you grew up, associating names, things, etc. So sorry by me, too.

My suggestion: Jessie Pinkman

May I suggest two small edits to the intro? I'd make "magnet" plural (below in bold) and I think "likely to arise" makes a very good sentence weaker ("for shock value" is strong and easily understood) so I'd suggest omitting it, as it is below. Character deaths in fiction are usually a divisive matter. When done right, they serve as a means to further the plot. When done wrong, they're controversy magnets, with accusations of killing the character only for shock value. The introduction is very good and written well, by the way.

I almost vote for Marcial just for a sympathy vote. I used to watch Médico de familia and I'm quite sure only Me and my family are possible voters for that spanish series. But I had to vote for Maude Flanders, it was a not funny, terrible and unnecesary death. It also marks the terrible moment in which The Simpsons were not good anymore as it was the first moment they disrespected their characters.

How is Eddard Stark's death unnecessary? In the novels, it served as the direct cause of the war between the Lannister and Stark factions, by eliminating the Lannister's advantage at holding him hostage, by opening the way for a secession movement in the entire North, and by ensuring that Tywin Lannister's plans for a peaceful succession were derailed. Who was actually calling the shots behind Joffrey Baratheon's sudden decision is a recurring mystery. On the other hand, Maude Flanders' death served little to no purpose in the Simpsons. Killed as a result of Homer's carelessness and treated as a joke.
