 National Twilight Zone Day is celebrated annually on May 11th. The original television show aired from 1959-1964 and was created, written and narrated by Rod Serling. A long rumored revival series is in development and seems to be inching closer to becoming a reality.

I used a combination of sources to validate the list, using both critical and everyday fans as a resource.

I tried to use episodes that were repeatedly listed on various Twilight Zone Top Ten lists: https://www.google.com/#q=best+twilight+zone+episodes. I also cross checked with everyday fan ratings by using the IMDb's top rated Twilight Zone episodes: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0052520/eprate.  I feel strongly that at least twenty-five episodes are not debatable as consensus choices. However, as on any "Best"  list the bottom quarter probably varies from individual to individual.

A great series, I used to watch it as a child, and I believe it had something to do with me appreciating classic cinema. Recently I rewatched season one on DVD.


My favourite episode ever, one I still remember how it scared me, is not on the list, so I'll vote for Will the Real Martian Please Stand Up?

Almost none of these are grabbing me. The ones I used to really like I've seen too often so now I are kind of cliche.

I guess Officer Redford is still memorable yet fresh to me.

While I have lots of favorite episodes from the series that I wish I could mention here, my #1 favorite of all is the one entitled, "Deaths-Head Revisited", in which a former Nazi commandant returns to the Dauchau concentration camp that he once commanded to reminisce and gloats over the place, until he encounters the spirits of all the prisoners that he had put to death, and they in turn put him on trial for his crimes, and they pass judgment onto him, and he's finally given his just-punishment.

Thanks, two great examples of the greatness of the "Twilight Zone". Also, those two are highest rated "Twilight Zone" episodes on IMDb. I love how the stories are unpredictable and always challenge you to think.
