Some really nice clichés in this list. My vote goes to: Hiding Upstairs

Some elements I don't really find annoying, and the ominous music is part of why I love the horror genre. These films often have the best soundtracks, and I often try to locate other works by the film composers. Some elements I have not noticed as a chiche at all. Particularly "The Police Always Arrive too Late". I have seen several horror films where the local cops, sheriffs, etc. are among the victims, and others where the killer is actually the local cop. Several of Jason Voorhees' victims from the Friday the 13th films ARE police officers. And in the unusual "Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday" (1993), Jason invades a police station and eliminates the cops. It is the inconsistency that I find annoying. In several films, the killers seem to be masters of stealth and get their kills by successfully ambushing their victims. But during their last battles, they reveal themselves, give up any attempt at stealth, and even strike up conversations with their targets. Which is why they are no longer invincible. Tale for example "Happy Birthday to Me" (1981), which is otherwise one of my favorite horror films. The killer is Ann (one of Ginny the main character's best friends). She kills every other friend of Ginny, and Ginny's father, by ambushing them or gaining their trust. But when it comes to killing Ginny herself, Ann drops her previously successful methods and starts giving an elaborate explanation of her motives and even hints that she is Ginny's previously unknown half-sister. Unsurprisingly, Ginny wrests control of the knife and kills Ann.

"The Police Always Arrive too Late" isn't one of the genres biggest cliches but I thought it should have been included. It seems to appear more in teenage horror movies. When I made the list I mainly thought of parody movies like Cabin in the Woods and Scary Movie for inspiration. Most of their jokes do a great job of pointing out the flaws and cliches in horror movies. For Scary Movie the police chief was a running gag throughout, he was always seconds behind the killer.

There's one more cliché: If a person tells his/her dreams or plans for the future, this character is going to die 1 minute later! I've put this image because it's the only movie that I remember that represents what I said. I really love this ending.

I think that fits in the Warnings in your Dream/Daydream of Future Events category.

"Bladed weapons" is pretty much spot on. And one of my favorite horror movies as well.
