Both added.A Hayao Miyazaki film as your first anime feature film? What a very perfect start. And one of his best as well? Sweet!

Its probably not exactly my first but it was the one I remembered well. Hayao Miyazaki is a brilliant director. Look at that Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle! I'm just blown! -----Edited I just saw the list about Doraemon (Watched in original Japanese with Indonesian subtitles), I was wrong, it was dubbed in Indonesian so no subtitles. Thanks

Saint Seiya was a big influence for me as a kid, and I dare to say it was the introduction to Anime to my whole generation in Mexico, if not in Latin America. I saw others, but they did not have the cultural impact of this one. I have seen very few Anime feature films, I don't know exactly which one went first, but it definitively was a Saint Seiya film, probably the first one there was

Both options were added to their respective links. Were either dubbed in Spanish or subtitled? Or...? Just curious about these small details.

Great YouTube essay on the differences of anime series being exported to Latin America as opposed to the United States. I can see how Saint Seiya, which failed under the title - Knights of the Zodiac - in the US could be so influential and beloved elsewhere.

When I saw them as a kid they were dubbed, Saint Seiya even had a theme song exclusive for Latin America, I'll look for it and post it for You. Curiously, today I would refuse to watch anything dubbed, but since I grew with this anime in Spanish is hard for me to see it in Japanese.

There can only be one entry/one first per person. Unless told otherwise, I'll put up this one.

Thanks. I was thinking it over a bit for the past few months and decided now to remove that language dub/subtitle detail from both lists. I asked for those details out of personal curiosity and I just think ultimately might lead the poll voter away from voting for any given option if they think its an option more for a given language version than the overall series itself.

The first anime feature film I have seen is Princess Mononoke. Still my favorite anime and animated film. First anime TV series: Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. I wouldn't recommend it. The 2nd I have watched Your Lie in April, I wouldn't recommend it to a newbie. I wouldn't recommend Neon Genesis Evangelion either. Death Note is my pick even though all episodes after L's death are terrible (even the 2nd Op Music is terrible).

Tsar, BonaFide and Cyril both picked Dragon Ball Z (1996–2003), so you should probably add Cyril's name to that option and remove the other title.
