It is right now indeed, but it wasn't 9 hours ago, when I submitted the corrections (180218-001529-206000). This is how the entries looked like: The problem comes (IMHO) because a line feed after the song title is missing, and every [link] before the first line feed is ignored when it should propagate to the respective name pages. Please note that in the example above, the great Xavier Cugat is credited in his page as perfomer of Nightingale (info after the first LF is well processed), but not as 'writer'. Similarly, Mitchell Paris's page didn't even listed La fée, despite being the writer of It's Wonderful in two entries (#2, #7), because in both cases his [link=nm0661695] appears before the first line feed. Since FTP files are no longer updated (latest version of soundtracks.list: 27 Dec 2017), the following numbers are just approximate. There are 1,805 soundtracks in which at least one [link] (old qv links in the .list) is present after the song title but before the first line feed. This tracks are spread along 692 titles, and affect to 2,440 [links] which currently aren't being honoured in their corresponding name pages. Using an example from the Soundtracks guide, if someone submits "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" Written by [link=nm0636413] and [link=nm0903117]instead of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" Written by [link=nm0636413] and [link=nm0903117]it makes this enormous difference (missing database entries or correct ones)? Since the song title is required to be in quotes, the software that checks the submission should make sure there's a line break immediately following the second quote. At least issue a warning, something like: 'Song title should be on its own line.' If I had submitted such an entry, because it translates the name links on the Soundtracks page, I'd assume everything is fine. And I would not have ANY idea how to fix it if I'd found the credits missing on the people's pages, so an enhancement to the Submission Guide is definitely in order! And for the IMDb staff who reads this, I don't understand this sentence in the Submission Guide, under the heading "Linking": Please avoid splitting name linked entries over lines as this will break the software that creates the hyperlinks.An example should be provided of what a "split name linked entry" looks like. Hi bderoes - To clarify, the correct formatting should be in a single line entry: Written by [link=nm0636413] and [link=nm0903117] Both examples you posted above are formatted incorrectly, but in specific regard to "splitting name linked entries", this would refer to the second example you posted: Written by [link= nm0636413] and [link=nm0903117] Given the confusion mentioned in this thread, I have also filed a ticket for our editorial staff to take a look at the existing guide and to see if further examples and clarification can be made. This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Unusual display. When looking at the credits for Buddy Stewart (nm3460091), I came across an unusual display. The credit in the film, "Freaky Deaky" shows a reference code to a songwriter for "Ninety Nine Pounds of Dynamite" - see first image below. I thought this may be because the link was incorrectly entered. Upon looking at the Soundtrack page, the display is perfect - see second image below. There does not appear to be an error in the underlying text - see third image below. Is there a reason for this unusual display?
