How do I add a single photo for a filmmaker on IMDb Pro?

I'm a producer who is trying to figure out how to add to IMDb and IMDb Pro a single, portrait style photo of a writer-director who I am working with. On the Contributor Page, it seems IMDb Pro only accepts photos that are hosted on websites. I can't seem to find any way to just upload one or two photos from my computer to IMDb.

How do I add a photo to the IMDb site?

AR: If you have an IMDbPro subscription, that enables you to upload photos to the page of one person -- who, in most cases, would be oneself. You can only upload photos to the page of a person if you have IMDbPro and have claimed that person's page.

Unfortunately to report, I'm not in the entertainment industry and haven't experienced uploading a person's photos via IMDbPro, so I can't give a step-by-step explanation of how to upload the photo  if you have claimed the person's page.

On the other hand, any IMDb registered user can submit links to photos hosted elsewhere to a person's page, as explained at https://contribute.imdb.com/updates/guide/name_urls_main#IMG. It sounds like those are the instructions that you found already, but that's not the same thing as what you are trying to do.

I hope this helps. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply.
How would I claim a page that talks about another person for myself?

Or, is it that I can upload a photo only onto my own page?

The director I'm working with does not have IMDb Pro, so I'm trying to upload his photo to his IMDb page for him.

You either have to become his manager/agent to upload his picture or pay for his IMDb subscription if he wants to have a picture on his profile.

However, he could always sign-up for the 30 day free trial and then pay for the subscription after.

He actually did sign up for the thirty day free trial. He uploaded his photo during that time. But, then, after he ended his subscription (just before he would have been charged), his photo automatically disappeared.

Guess this is a very effective way for IMDb to make some cash, lol.

You must stay a member in order to keep your photo up on IMDb. The only exception to this is a manger/agent can upload a picture for their clients and/or change the pictures just as long as their subscription is valid. Hope this helps.

i just posted a suggestion about this to IMDb. At least allow all/any account to show the profile photo. Not showing the profile photo because the person/account is not a pro account just make IMDb looks bad, like it's missing info, empty, lack of users, or something incomplete. So, at least show everyone's profile photo without requiring the person to pay the monthly fee is not too much to ask.
