Allow users to chose the order of their credit categories.

I get the idea that whatever category you have the most credits in is displayed first, but I think you should allow users to chose which category is displayed first - here's why:  take the example of a DP (like myself), frequently "camera and electrical department" credits are displayed first because you may have a lot of credits from years as a camera assistant and then an operator and also as a second unit DP (even more so if a majority of those credits are from individual tv episodes).  But you don't want prospective employers to have to scroll past all of that to get to the more important category of "Cinematographer" which, unless you're fairly prolific, will always remain lower down the page (especially if you continue to take 2nd unit DP jobs which are added to the "camera and electrical department" category!).  I'm surprised this is the case even with big DP's (e.g. the DP that's currently filming the "Mission Impossible" films - Frasier Taggart)

Sometimes I get the feeling with imdb things exists in a certain way purely because it's easier to maintain as a database rather than the way users would prefer them to be...

Hi @davecw

If you're an active IMDbPro member, you can now select your primary profession. The categories displayed will then reflect the primary profession(s) you have selected. This is explained more in our manage your primary professions article.

Thanks for the tip (I'm not an IMDbPro member unfortunately)...
