Updates to the Ratings pages and functionality
Today we have made several updates to our Ratings pages and functionality. We have improved the design of the ratings details page to give it a cleaner, more modern look.
We have also made several changes, listed below. These changes only impact the Your Ratings page on the IMDb desktop Website. You may find much of this information by creating and running custom searches on the AdvancedTitle Search page. For example, to see comedy titles you have rated, sorted by your rating, see this advancedsearch. Or, to see titles you have rated that are in the IMDb Top250 list, see this advancedsearch.
What did we change?
1. We removed the Compact list view. This was accessible from the far right icon (see A in the screen capture below). The grid view and detailed list view are still available.
2. We updated the “Sort by” dropdown box. It now provides the two most popular choices: Most Recent (previously called Recently Rated) and Top Rated (previously Your Rating). Sort by: Your rating, Title A-Z, Release date (US),Number of votes, IMDb rating, and Popularity were removed. See B in the screen capture below.
3. We removed the Refine ratings filters options from the Your Ratings page on the desktop site. See C in the screen capture below.
4. We removed the Find More Titles tab. See D in the screen capture below.

5. We removed the Recommended for You section on the User/Ratings page.
6. We changed the format of data in the Ratings Export. You can export your ratings to Excel by clicking the new overflow menu (the 3 vertical dots) above your list in the updated experience, and choosing Export.
There are many ways to find new titles to watch. IMDb users can use Advanced Search, look through the recommendations for new titles to watch under People who liked this also liked... on any title page, or see Top Rated Movies.
Thank you for your continued support.

I have 5220 titles rated as of now. I can't find anything there anymore. Can't filter by year, genre, type ... zilch. IMDb was my preeminent place online, in general (hence the religious zealousness of my ratings), but now I'm afraid it'll be just another forgotten bookmark.
It is truly bewildering to me what the point of this change is? What is your philosophy regarding this website and who are your target audience?

It also seems the ratings list now has fewer sorting settings in the desktop version than in the app.

The new "Rating by demographic" section on each film's ratings page is truly unreadable. Why did you change this? The way it was previously was easy to read at-a-glance as it was nicely formatted one thing per line, with a graph I do believe. Now, it looks like a webpage with broken CSS - just a plain white table. It's ugly.

I constantly post my ratings of films on the IMDb to keep track of all the titles I have seen, and to refer back to in case I need help finding a film or unearthing something I have forgotten.
Currently, my "Your Ratings" page can only sort films in the orders of Top Rated and Most Recent. However, I recall being able to track films based on the number of votes they have. I am now trying to plan a screening series of under-seen Canadian films, and it will be very time-consuming for me to go through every page to track down the films I need.
I want to know why there are fewer options to sort through ratings. I also recall being able to look at a film by genre, year of release, the star-rating (out of 10) I gave it. Today, I looked on both Safari and Firefox browsers, and nothing. Any idea where these options went?

I have noticed a problem with the ratings totals. In my case it tells me I have 7,285 ratings. I keep a separate excel spreadsheet and know that my total ratings are 7,240. When I export and go to the last line in the excel spreadsheet it tells me there are 7,285...however, the export inserts 45 blank lines which is not good. I wanted to bring this to your attention in case you were unaware. It is frustrating to not know how many total titles you have voted for unless you export, open in excel, sort by title, and go to the bottom to see your true count.
Also, I am disappointed that you have eliminated the ratings filtering options. I used to have over 20,000 ratings because I rated TV episodes, but I could not export a file that large because it would time out. The filter option was the only way I could get my records exported in batches. After 5+ years and being told my problem only affected the few and would not be fixed I simply removed all my TV episode votes and just voted for the TV series. (This is why I'm now just over 7,000 votes) However, if/when I reach that "file to large" timeout, I will be unable to export my ratings.
Now I want to appeal to you as a long time user (18+ years) and a Top 250 contributor, if/when this happens I hope you will provide an alternative export option or I will probably no longer use this site. I have found many other websites that provide functionality that you have removed...like message boards. Please don't force me away.
Thank you,
David

The /[username]/films/diary/by/entry-rating/ view on Letterboxd shows basically the view that I wish IMDb still offered. I did find exporting my data to be very easy--thank you for that. The importer on Letterboxd is currently free, so all I had to do for now was change some headings ("Const" -> "imdbID"; "Your Rating" -> "Rating10"; and "Date Added" -> "WatchedDate") and write a little script to convert the WatchedDate to "YYYY-MM-DD" format.
However, I appreciate that IMDb has much more data overall (e.g. TV shows!), so I really wish I didn't have to use another service.
