Updates to List Pages
Today (Dec 6) we are announcing an update to the List pages on the IMDb desktop experience. This update is part of the broader site changes announced recently (https://getsatisfaction.com/imdb/topics/upcoming-changes-to-several-imdb-features-du6man1opd5q0). After in-depth discussion and examination, we have decided to simplify the features and functionality for lists. We have merged “compact view” and list editing into a single Edit experience. In that one view, you can now modify your text and add, copy, delete and move items. We have also pulled List actions (edit, export, settings) together into a 1-click menu (the 3 vertical dots on the top right of the page). You will now also find two new options in the Refine menu: ‘In Theaters’ and ‘Keywords.’ Tech constraints on the new system prohibit us from continuing to support drag-and-drop from the Edit view; we appreciate your understanding. For more information about Lists, see the IMDb Help Center.

I've encountered a strange issue with accents in a title link, in a list i created.
On my IMdB user page, the title link is OK:
But in the full page list, the accent in the title are displayed in HTML code.
Morover, the year of the movie is not shown in the link:
I'm using the latest version of Firefox on Windows 8.1.

Mr. Needham: PLEASE go back to the old format(s)! I can't find anything/can't organize my lists b/c the click-and-drag feature is gone! Who's idea was this?! If it ain't broke DON'T fix it!
Name/title linking is now IMPOSSIBLE! It took me much-longer to link names to make sure I didn't repeat a name! Do YOU know who is nm=0000129 is off the top of your head? Give up? It's Tom Cruise! PLEASE return to (qv) format!
Judging by the responses, if you DO NOT return to the old format(s), you'll lose TONS of contributors -- including me!
Note: This conversation was created from a reply on: Update to User Reviews.

Since today or yesterday, I'm unable to remove a film from my 2019 - Most Anticipated list (since one titled was moved to 2020). How come this simple function is not available anymore??? Surely this IT Supporter must have overlooked something? Or I can't believe my own eyes.
Best regards.

The RSS feed for my list is gone. Using the RSS URL now returns the desktop version of the list versus the valid XML. Have you decided to stop supporting RSS for lists?
Here is the URL I have been using: http://rss.imdb.com/list/ls004040167/

Hi! I wanted to ask how can I reorder the lists that I have created on
the website? Since the update few months ago, I can't drag and reorder
lists, and if I reorder by switching the numbers of 2 titles and save,
it says "an error occured while saving". What should I do?

Over the past 7 or 8 years, I have created close to a hundred lists to which I refer very often. These lists are still available to me, but I am no longer able to sort them by IMDb rating, my personal rating, alphabetically, by release date, etc. Also, I had each of my lists defaulted to a list view without visuals and this feature is no longer available. My understanding is that there are fundamental changes in process. Will these features return at some point or are they gone forever? If the latter, I am extremely disappointed. Thanks for any feedback you can give me.

2017 is coming to a close. In retrospect, here is a list of changes to user-lists that have been implemented over the years:
The Comments Section
Then: An exclusive IMDb feature that proved to be a great mode of communication for members.
Now: Scrapped in favor of Facebook.
Result: If you like it or not, if you want to answer comments and communicate with others, you have no choice but to create a Facebook account. In my case, Facebook has not improved or promoted communication in comparison to the original system.
The Related Lists Feature
Then: Regardless of the length of a particular list. It would appear on the User Lists feature, visible on that title page.
Now: Where many lists are created in respect to a particular title - only lists in the low two-digit numbers appear on a particular page. This also applies to all other Related Lists where longer lists are excluded. Number of votes are taken into account in relation to entries on a particular list and if that list exceeds a particular total, it does not appear listed there.
Lists without subject, description, or relevance to anything, but a set of random titles takes precedence over well-researched, relevant lists. For example: 'To Download', 'Movies', 2017', 'Wish', 'To Watch' etc. etc. add little to nothing to the IMDb experience. Those IMDb members that truly contribute and bring legitimacy to this site, in regards to the content of their lists, (and there are a number of them) are however discouraged by the limitations imposed on them.
The new changes also exclude list descriptions that were previously available. A handy feature that informs of the content of a list without having to play roulette for the desired outcome of what you are looking for in a list of another.
DVD & Blu-ray and Genres
Then: Both the DVD & Blu-ray and Genres sections of the site had a feature where IMDb members could create their own lists with the option to "tag" and have their lists openly displayed in that section.
Now: Scapped.
Drag & Drop
Then: A necessary component of the user-list. Especially for longer lists and listees who are very specific in regards to placement of titles, and who update their lists on a constant basis, accordingly.
Now: Scrapped for a time-consuming, laborious, and impractical, number system editing feature.
Compact View
Then: A fast and effective means of reviewing a list. Especially handy for the list creator.
Now: Scrapped.
Scrolling Speed
Then: Freeflowing
Now: Jerky, occasionally freezes, slow. The same applies to editing, with the addition of the disappearance of the entire page which then manifests itself after a couple of seconds.
