Unable to rate titles

I am not able to rate any of the titles on IMDb at the moment. I press "Rate." The option to choose from 1-10 stars pops up, as usual. I choose a rating. And then I get a message in red letters that says, "Error: Please try again."

I would take a screenshot, but the message disappears after a few seconds.

I have tried several different titles, and so the issue cannot be with any individual title.

I can confirm this web problem. It does not occur when rating through the Android IMDB App, and ratings are accepted. Reading the same movie on the web reflects the phone input makes it to the database.

Yeah, came here for help. I rate a lot. I can only rate on my Android APP, which is bothersome for me because I tend to have several windows open simultaneously 'cause I jump back and forth between programs. I hope this get fixed soon.

Thanks for confirming.  What happens if you open an incognito / private browsing window, login there and vote again?

Also which title(s) are affected?

Col,

I opened a private window,
I opened Yentl page https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0086619/ (never rated before, just saw it last week)
I rated it
System asked me to identify myself
Systems shows my reference page with the rate I just entered
When trying to edit it, get the "Error: please try again" error message

Same firefox window, going to Rich and Strange https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0023395/
(never rated before, just saw it last week)
Try to rate it
Get the same error message

What happens if you vote on the same titles outside of title/reference view?

Seems OK:
I changed my settings by unticking the reference view
I got back to Yentl page
I could alter my rating

Reticked the reference view in my settings
Get the same error message back when trying to alter again the Yentl rating.

Thanks so the issue appears to be confined to m.imdb.com and title/reference view, which helps in tracking this down.

I had the same problem; I can also confirm it happens on reference view.

This reeks of rancor. Is IBM D going to do what Rotten Tomatoes did, and start censoring people's voices. My reviews are being critiqued and decided on whether they'll be allowed or not. Not impressed in the slightest. And if IMDb is just going to become another tool of the social justice Warrior regime I will find another Avenue. I can keep it in a text document on my computer or phone, your convenience is not worth being censored.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled I'm getting an error when I try to add a RATING: "Error Try Again". Would like to....

I try to add a rating, and get an error message saying "Error Try Again". Cannot add any ratings to any TV shows or movies.

Sorry about this.  Please can you provide more details?

Is this on https://www.imdb.com/ or https://m.imdb.com/ ?

Do you have example titles which demonstrate the error?

Is it consistently broken or if it intermittent is there similar advertising appearing on the broken pages?

Does the problem persist if you open a private / incognito browser window and login there and then vote?

I came back to update myself on any progress. I can confirm this still exists on the REFERENCE page, and again on my historical RATINGS page. I am using the latest Firefox v66.0.1, and have the latest Flash v32.0.0.142. I tested both pages with Flash enabled and disabled without any change.
