To: Col Needham & other IMDb Staff Members: A Shared Interest and Passion for Movies:

Though this post may remain unanswered and disappear in obscurity, I would like to take the liberty of speaking out on behalf of the List-Makers that have not only contributed to IMDb but also to film in general.

To quote CEO and creator of IMDb; Col Needham; "My personal aim for IMDb is to help share my interest and passion for movies with the world and as a result help people discover more great movies to watch or to get more from ones they have already seen (and we have other people on the team who feel the same way about TV, celebrities and beyond)".

Yet, this aim is also shared by many users on IMDb, myself included. Speaking on my own behalf; since becoming aware of the cultural importance and personal fulfillment that film offers, I have always wanted to share this with others. This is the primary reason I chose to become an IMDb member. IMDb offered its members a wonderful opportunity to convey their passion for movies, by allowing members to create their own lists, and voice their opinions.

Since discovering IMDb a number of years ago and the possibilities it had to offer, I have, to the best of my ability, tried to convey my love of film through my lists. And at the same time staying true and respectful to the ethics of why this site was created in the first place. And, to dismiss the possibility of any ulterior motives, like wanting to become popular, I have retained complete anonymity.

It is in the context of what has been stated above, that I would like to ask if there is any possibility that IMDb could implement a feature, through selection, that acknowledges and promotes the efforts of Users-Lists that are both beneficial to cinema and a reflection of what IMDb is about.
