lists - exporting

Can't export my complete list - only the first page of it and not in alphabetical order which is what I need to do to prioritise and sort my list

Just tried to export a large-ish list (2.7k+) and had no difficulty.

Can you share the url of the list giving you trouble?
How large is it?
With what software are you opening the .csv file?

Mines about 2,100: https://www.imdb.com/user/ur19752713/watchlist?ref_=nv_wl_all_0 (I think thats the URL you need)

I use Libreoffice as I don't have MS office anymore - it should have transferred the whole list but didn't for some reason. Opened the whole list up so it should have worked.

If I could get the whole list it would save a lot of time as I could just highlight the ones I want to watch most instead of typing up a list manually.

Oh, it's your Watchlist. That doesn't even have an Export option, so what did you try?

Here's what I would do:
1) Create a new list, name it anything
2) Copy all your Watchlist items into that new list using the Edit function on the Watchlist. You'll have to do that 1 page at a time, but that should be 259 on each page, so yours is fewer than 10 pages. Please understand that you only have to click the Select All button at the top of each Edit page, then Copy the titles to the new list.
3) When you have all your items in the new list, use the Export function there to create the .csv file for all 2100 titles.

When you're satisfied you've got your data into the spreadsheet, you can delete the intermediate list. Or, you could keep it as a snapshot of what you had on your Watchlist today.

I know nothing about Libreoffice; I'm assuming it can take a .csv file as input.

If Libreoffice does not take a .csv file, you might want to use Google Sheets or Open Office to act as your spreadsheet. Both are free. (Google Sheets requires that you have a gmail account, which is also free.)

Oops. 259 in my reply above should be 250, of course.

Hi, bderoes:
it's your Watchlist. That doesn't even have an Export option
Please note that the Export option in Watchlists is at the bottom of the page.

Glen's watchlist includes 2,139 titles and when I use the export option I find no issues... neither in Excel nor in OpenOffice...

 ljdoncel,
very glad you caught my mistake!

I was able to Export Glen's list and "upload" it to Google Sheets as well, without issue. Here's a link (which I'll take down in a day or two).
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1YMNjj4zUxOcxjbDqxvvBAl2Fnf2R-Qc8oSENua4g51I/edit?usp=sharing

You can make a copy of that sheet and manipulate it. Start with File > Make a copy.

Even though I'm a big fan of spreadsheets, on IMDb I use the Advanced Title Search to extract what I want from my lists.

FWIW, LibreOffice is a spin off from OpenOffice, whether the latter development was more or less stopped by Oracle.

I like to have a printed list so I can glance at it instead of going though IMDB every time - that and I can highlight ones I want to watch most
