? ?

Taylor and other Staffers may have this and other threads on "Unfollow"

so they do not get the many e-mails

with our replies of comments, complaints, requests, suggestions, and questions etc....

and do not reply with helpful information

They only look at new messages and reply to some of them

so, We should start new messages and not reply here with ...

Wow, Taylor is really not listed among the Followers of this thread. Yikes.

Thanks for pointing that out, Act_1.

From Off Topic Thread...

Grayson, Employee

we work from the oldest unanswered threads forwards,

so bumping regularly will actually make it less likely staff will see a thread.

Also, something like this should be handled through our contact page,

as we respond to almost all messages through there within 24 hours

so this would have been resolved quicker.

@ACT_1

Keep in mind that Grayson's comments do not apply to threads such as announcements where we welcome feedback and are actively monitoring said threads.

This is also why you find merged feedback from other threads so that all conversation pertaining to the thread can be aggregated and reviewed in one place.

Hyperlinks are again failing to automatically parse.

The email DOES make the link active, however. Weird.

I feel it's pretty random whether the link gets activated or not.

For instance, if you copy a paragraph from the Help Center search results, the "read more" at the end of the preview will come across as active.

_Sometimes_ copying a title from an IMDb search result will come with an active link.

Almost always, pasting a URL copied from the link box atop any google tab will paste as an inactive link.

@Taylor I don't see your name among the followers of this thread anymore.

Perhaps you weren't when I posted this above (and the one immediately following it.)

That is GMail (or your email provider's) web interface, or Outlook or whatever you use parsing the link.

Hi,

You should find that URLs are now automatically hyperlinked in the text editor.

Taylor,

Thanks. It appears that URLs are now automatically hyperlinked in the text editor.

Awesome! As soon as I hit Enter, the link was added.

Taylor, there seems to be a glitch or feature defect that is preventing me from following a thread that I previously unfollowed. Is this a known problem?

@jeorj_euler

Happy to look into this - would you happen to have a thread where you're experiencing this issue, that we can use to reference?

The "follow" operations fails whenever I try to use it on seemingly any of the threads created by longtime IMDb contributor Gene Chin.

Plot Author Matching "Huggo"

https://www.imdb.com/search/title/?plot_author=Huggo

I have suggested many times here to

Change

https://www.imdb.com/search/title?plot_author=Col+Needham

to

https://www.imdb.com/user/ur1000000/plots

https://www.imdb.com/search/name?bio_author=Col+Needham

to

https://www.imdb.com/user/ur1000000/bios

Add to "Quick Links" box

keeps everything together

@ACT_1

I don't understand what you're requesting: "Can WE have clicky links to a Reply in grey/gray boxes ? ?" I don't know what I'm supposed to see on your Profile page that is different from an employee's page.

BTW, I activated the (annoying to recipient) "@ACT_1" above by clicking the button on your post, in case that's what you meant.

@ACT_1 I don't understand what you're requesting:

Interesting that a google search doesn't take you to the Quotes page,

For login problems I'd suggest you use this form https://help.imdb.com/contact

Taylor, #5 just happened to me AGAIN. Pasting more than 1 image into a Post

To what page(s) are you trying to add images?

No, you have to click on the OP then search for your reply in grey/gray

I agree that the activity page would be more useful if you could click on the response instead of, or in addition to, clicking on the original post. After all, they have created the direct links - that's how I got from the email directly to this reply.

Cause For Security Concern?

I did not take these three actions (pictured), though I have changed my nickname and image.

Were these added to my interests as part of the “New Community Forums,” gathered from ancient preferences, or is some other internet mystery?

Am I even asking in the correct place?

I have not been active in forums for a very long time.

My inbox went boom in mid Oct. 2020, full of random forum posts.

Inquiries during October are expected to rise due to the Blair Witch creations and curiosity about the involvement/history/reality of Burkittsville, but these mailings were not related.

Anyone else experience rapid increase of posts notifications or change in mailing preferences?

I fixed most available preferences today, but would like to know what is up.

The Aug 30 date is when this service was converted from IMDb's prior forum on getsatisfaction.com

You likely were following those topics on that forum, even if you had turned off notifications over there.

This (sprinklr.com) version of the site was activated on 1Sep.

I have no idea why you would have a "flood of" emails 10-12Oct (as specified in your other post about this.) I find 36 total messages in my Trash folder from those 3 days, although I don't subscribe to all of your 3 topics.

I'm no longer able to copy-paste formatted texts and images.

This was possible before.

Am I the only one experiencing this?

BonaFideBOSS,

I just ran into this issue this morning when I was posting an updates to FAQ: Poll Milestones. This significantly reduces the utility of this message board and is extremely annoying.

BonaFide,

Not only can I not paste images, but when I copy text that contains a link, the formatting of the text is removed, as is the link.

I have a vague recollection that someone asked for that (removal of formatting) while we paste.

This is a giant step backward.

No, Act_1, it was this message:

https://community-imdb.sprinklr.com/conversations/imdbcom/introducing-updated-imdb-community-forums-experience/5f4a7cb08815453dba0f50df?commentId=5f5007abbd2550735015576f&replyId=5f53b807bd255045b49064d2

I would argue that hyperlink parsing is more of a positive, but that's just me, I prefer formatting wiped out completely when I copy and paste anything.

I don't understand that remark, because ctrl-shift-V wipes out the formatting when you want that.

Now we're forced to wipe out the formatting???

Thanks for flagging this. This behavior was not an intentional change and is something the team is investigating.

The threads on the main/home page are being displayed by the "Most Recent" search settings again.

Was this revert an unintentional change too?

Please fix it. Thank you.
