Feedback on new photo viewer design
There is no longer a windowed overlay when viewing photos. There used to be an x in the top corner to click that would return to the movie page, but some moron decided to remove this feature. Gotta click the movie links now on the photo info to return to the movie page. Yeah I know, this may seem petty, but its just bad web coding.

The new layout does not show the updated notes on images as soon as they were updated.
It takes a few minutes before displaying the changes.
I'm not sure if I'm the only one experiencing this but I hope someone verifies this by testing it themselves. I'd have posted an example but since it's a temporary effect, I doubt it'd stay long enough for the reader (of this message) to verify it.
I noticed this problem 1-2 weeks ago but forgot to report. Sorry.

I really appreciate everyone taking the time to share feedback. Though we won't be able to address every request, I am reading them!

If I click on photos, and click through them, there is no exit from photos. I have to back arrow over and over again or start over. Maybe I am missing something, but I have tried to find an exit from scrolling through photos, and the new format just doesn't seem to have a one or two click exit back to the main entry.

Going to photos for a movie had stopped the black screen nonsense and gone back to the usual way of being able to click the x to return to photos section. Not the black screen with no exit is back. I have read the issue concerns ads and blocking them. I would be fine with a few ads, but imdb got so over the top with them that I got an ad blocker. I can use imdb less, if that is the intent of the black no exit screen. I am just surprised an Amazon company has such poor customer interface, as I know other folks have issues with this. Usually Amazon does better than this.

If I click on photos, and click through them, there is no exit to get out of individual photos back to photos section. I even turned off the ad blocker and it made no difference. So I turned the ad blocker back on. Sure wish they would fix this.

imdb is having an awful time with their new photo viewer. It does not function well, and the imdb community powered by satisfaction is being no help in getting the word to imdb that there is a problem. It has come and gone and returned on my visits to imdb, other people are having the problem. Imdb is blaming it on using ad blocker, but when I turned the ad blocker off it made no difference in the problem.

I see the horrible sexy photo viewer is baaaack! When it reappeared in Firefox last week, I actually switched to Edge. Just to avoid this photoviewer!!
Alas, my reprieve has come to an end in Edge as of yesterday. There is nowhere to hide.
So I wanted to complain again. :)
As someone who is constantly on IMDB uploading and downloading artwork, - not having the ability to right click/save images is a major P.I.T.A. Functionality-wise the new viewer 'works' but it feels sluggish and bloated compared to the old viewer. The whole 'fading in/out' of elements is slow and annoying.
The "back" button on the upper left is not good. You know, generally when people enter a photo gallery they are clicking on the right arrow from start to finish until it round-robins, and
at which point are looking to close the photoviewer. The old viewer with the "X" on the upper right made more sense, was more intuitive, and much closer to where my cursor ended up after clicking through a gallery (on the right side of the page). The "back" link on the left is confusing in that it may lead the user to thinking it will take them "back" to the previous PHOTO, when in fact it exits the viewer.
Really wish you'd provide an option in IMDB settings/preferences for users to be able to toggle the 'enhanced photo viewer thing' off/on. Anyway.. I just hate it. Currently I'm getting it on Firefox and Edge but it seems Chrome is getting the old viewer now?? guess i can switch to chrome for now.
ciao

Okay, so my feedback so far.
- This function has taken away the ability to save images from IMDb, a great disappointment for anyone who's saved images before. There was a roundabout way done before, but a direct way would be better.
- Also, I think a few images have been zoomed up by the new viewer design. I'm not sure if this is me or there is an actual zoom going on, but a few images look blurred up/magnified by this new viewer. And it's really frustrating. Why have a gallery if the images can't be clearly shown off?

Is there, I wonder, a critical mass number of complaints they need to achieve before the head of imdb can justify the time and effort to fix this thing? Out of all the problems going on, why mess with something that is working just for something to do?

In the old version of browsing photos, all I needed to do was use ESC to get out and return to the page I was on. Now, the only way I can see to return is to use the back arrow. This is kind of burdensome...if I have browsed a hundred photos do I really need to use the back arrow a hundred times to return to the page?

When looking at photos from a movie, I used to be able to right click and save the photo to my computer. How can I download an image.

Can't save images from the context (right-click) menu anymore, or any other possible way from my knowledge. This was one of my main reasons to visit the site, in order to get official info and images for my movie collection.
