Changing the order of items in a list

Earlier this month I tried rearranging the titles I had in a list and when I click "save list order", the order is out of sync with the new numbers I put in. Is anyone else having the same issue?

You'll probably need to provide an example of what you did, what you expected it to do, and what the actual result was. Screenshots are best.

In general, when using the Desktop version of the list editor, you have to move only 1 item at a time, and when moving it down the list (from a smaller position number to a larger one), you have to account for the position lost by the item being moved. For example, in this list:

1) Item A

2) Item D

3) Item B

4) Item C

5) Item E

If you want to move "Item D" to live between "Item C" and "Item E", its new position needs to be 4, not 5.

I've been reordering my lists for several years without an issue. Here are two screenshots: the first shows me typing in the numbers to reorder three items and the second shows what happens after I click "save list order." After I did that, you can see in the second screenshot that the website has rearranged them so that two titles have now been given the same number. I am using Safari.

@bp017957

Items having the same position number is a far cry from "the order is out of sync with the new numbers I put in".

Duplicate position numbers is a known problem, which IMDb staff can cure.

If there's no way to get the "save list order" to function correctly then you can't save them in the correct order. I just thought I was pointing out a functionality issue with the website I'd never encountered before when managing my lists.
