No search parameters.

So I bought my daughter her first television. It's a smart TV, she wanted to watch a specific movie and I told her to check your app! But for some reason unbeknownst to me - a search parameter is not available. You simply have the option to scroll until you hopefully find what you're looking for. Assuming this was a design flaw of the television, I went online to your website to see if I could find it there. Again absolutely no information as to if it's available on your "imdb TV". There is no search bar in the tab online either! So it's not just poorly designed on the television app, it's just a poor design all the way around. The only time we will be opening the imdb TV app is if we have exhausted all other means of media viewing and just want to blindly scroll through random options until something jumps out at us. I suppose this is more of a rant than a question. Here - when do you plan to add search parameters to your imdb TV streaming app?

Hi Kristen,
Thank you for yourfeedback. We are always working on improving the IMDb and I was sure toshare this feedback with the team.

If you have an Amazon Fire TV device, you're welcome to use the in-system search. Alternatively if there is a Prime Video app on your smart TV, you can search IMDb TV titles within the Prime Video app as well.

Why is there no search function in the imdb tv app for box one?   It's just not there?  Who thought that was a good idea?  (hint: it's not, it's frustratingly maddening!!)  When will it be added?

@Taylor
some of us will not use scamazon nor its devices.
I did notice that most of the shows I viewed [at another persons house] on amazon prime were
from IMDb TV and was glad to see imdb TV as an add on channel :)
we watch IMD b TV channel a lot and do like it. [look forward to when it has a search feature]

but here at home I avoid all things amazon as it has proven unreliable.

The only reason/purpose for IMDb not putting a search bar on Xbox app or on other certain devices is strictly because. They are a relatively new and small streaming app and they lack the numbers they need to acquire new investors and continued investors. So they take away the search bar to increase the amount of time each viewer is on their app searching for a movie/TV.

This directly increases their analytics thus making there App seem as if it receives alot of use. Thus raising stock value by saying you are watching and using their app longer than you are. When in truth you're just searching for what you're looking to watch you're not actually watching anything.

It's a new underhanded should be illegal way of streaming services to increase their stock value thus defrauding their investors and the public

@MarcMeasure your answer is long and drawn out.
until they add a way to search their site - it will be watched less
uh while searching you are on their site = they make more money with more viewers
the longer they are on the site = more money for them.
actually watching a movie might get them more advertising $
but if you dont see a movie worth watching - you move on and have no good words to share about that site = less $

Why is there no search box in the imdb tv app on xbox one?  Where is it?  When will it be added?

I'm guessing that the development team simply didn't have the resources (such as time) to implement it at the time when eager to launch. Maybe the feature will be added in the future, as it ought, because the lack of such a feature is outright unusual for a streaming app. I can't think of any such app that didn't have a search feature.

Thank you.  There is no good reason for why there's no search box in the imdb tv app on xbox one. When will it be added?

I don't know when it might be added. The way I see it, we ought to simply be thankful that the app even exists at all, since IMDb's overall attitude suggests that the company doesn't owe us anything at all beyond employees own acquiescence to the company's core mission, a mission that has nothing to do with providing a streaming service. That's just the way it is right now unfortunately.

Why is there not a search bar (and even a watch list) on the IMDB app) (Roku Version)

I downloaded the app and cannot find a search box anywhere in this IMBd tv app for looking up a title. Search engines say there is one, but there isn't. There are categories at the top, but no search box for typing in a name or title.

It stinks. I thought it was going to be a fantastic alternative to other streaming options. Then I downloaded and started to look up a show. Oh my stars. What are they thinking?

You can't search for a title alphabetically or any other way. Incredibly bad TV app.

I just got a streaming device with Android TV. Same problem. No search bar. Did some research on the net and came across this thread. Can't believe it's still the same problem 2 years later. But the funniest thing is I downloaded this app on my phone and it's there. I can search. I can't believe we have this kind of discussion at all. And the company's name is IMDB where DB stands for database, which presumes to be searchable. Hello, IMDb!

30 minutes later. Did more research. Seems like Prime Video and IMDb shares the same platform or whatever the term is. Went there and found through search. Looks like my wife can watch the Huger Games for free even w/o Prime membership. Go figure? Very complicated.

No search bar on my Samsung smart tv. When you click on the app the TV show Mad Men pops up to watch. There is no search bar or way of watching anything. I read online that I'm not the only one having this problem. So what's up with the search bar?
