For instance:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/video/detail/amzn1.dv.gti.82a9f7a0-582e-3d72-aa70-d8bed01fe40d
You can watch it free with ads, or you can rent it for cash.
You can get to the Amazon page directly from the IMDb page:
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2209418/
Open that 3-dot menu, and click on the narrow sliver saying Prime Video:

Well...my series are all messed up. My Samsung smart TV isn't able to play IMDB content apparently, and the "commercial free" series I WAS watching for 3 seasons because it was part of my annual Amazon Prime paid subscription all of the sudden only plays through IMDB, and with commercials. In other words, I lost one of the main benefits of having a prime membership because of the switch. So even if I DID have a TV that plays IMDB content, I no longer have commercial-free episodes even with a $100+/year Amazon Prime subscription. Isn't that double-dipping? Guess I'll just watch something else (somewhere else) and re-evaluate whether the "free shipping" I get with prime is worth the subscription fee since I base the "is it worth it" decision each year on the combination of services, and that combination of services just got drastically reduced.

@bderoes thanks for the replies and insights, but you might be missing the point. It seems like Amazon's deliberate double dipping strategy (IMDb Tv ad supported shows under the PrimeVideo No Ads umbrella). Unlike Starz you can turn on or off, I call BS on this as well.
"IMDb TV Free with ads" under Prime Video that you pay to avoid ads defeats the purpose especially if both are Amazon's offerings.
You are right though, one can choose to avoid - until they make it the norm and you have no choice.
I will avoid, and will also look into if it's worth paying the prime membership if this continues to expand.

IMDB is now an Amazin system app. Ever since the change, it doesn't work the same for me. It keeps glitching and crashing and only offers programming with ads. Since it is taking up space in my firestick, I did the following:
I downloaded ES Explorer (file explorer). I went to the apps file. I located the IMDB file. I clicked on the options button (the button with three lines) on my remote. It gave me the option to uninstall. I uninstalled IMDB TV. My understanding is that I will never be able to reinstall since it is now a system app. I hope this helps.
