What was the last film you saw and how would you rate it? Pt. 18

Thought I'd post this here until I hear we're doing it somewhere else....

Post the name of the latest movie you've seen and your rating out of 10.

Sunshine Boys (t0073766) - 7/10 - loved Burns, hated Matthau.

C.O.G. - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1650393 - 6/10 - Meh. Was much better as an essay written by David Sedaris. This wasn't amusing in the least. And the music was totally wrong for the film. Maybe it would have worked with another film, but not this one.

Is it really bad? I am about to watch it this weekend. I love Jessica Chastain so I am kind of required to watch it but I don't want to  waste my time also.

Gelophil - you are responding to a post from five months ago. Michael will probably not respond.

Moonlight (2016) - 8/10, I still have not seen any Oscar nominee I find really worthy this year.

Would a rating of 10/10 be required to be worthy, for you? Just curious.

Not at all, I never give a rating of 10 the first time I watch a movie. That is reserved for films that I feel passionate about months after first watching them, so the films that have that number in my list have been all rated twice., and they are very few.

An 8 rating is a very good film in my book, and perfect for a nominee, but my winners usually have a 9.

With an 8 I leave the theater satisfied, with a 9 I leave the theater excited.

Good Night, and Good Luck. - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0433383 - 7/10 - loved the atmosphere created by the musical interludes. I felt like I would have gotten more out of the film if I was much older and had lived at the time or near the time of the events of the film. Also there was a short special interviewing those who had been involved, but the participants were not identified so I felt like I was missing a lot from that too... :(

I remember that I thought the film was stylish and the subject interesting, but the film still a bit boring.

La French (2014) - 8/10 (released in the USA as 'The Connection')

Feels like The French Connection (1971) with Gene Hackman, but made today and with French actors. Marseille in the '70s. Where do they find so many of these old Citroën DS gangster cars?

Season 3 of Brooklyn Nine-Nine - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2467372/  - 9/10 - the mumps episode left me gasping for air several times.

The original post of this was deleted by an IMDb admin (employee) because I included a photo with the B word on it. Are we living in 1984 here? Censorship is so 20th century!
