Maybe you could remove some of the speculative ones from the first list, especially Jaime & Brienne, Arya & Gendry, Jon & Sansa and Varys & Olenna, as it's highly unlikely they will become couples.

I am not sure I agree, it isn't about them becoming couples. It is about whether they are good fits for each other (or would have been in Olenna's case) and make sense in the scheme of the story. Marriage isn't always about the romance, but is always about the alliance in Westeros. Plus, a large part of the series is the moves and end games by characters and houses. The fan speculation is a driving factor in the appeal of the show, so I think these couplings makes sense. If season eight is a blood bath as rumored, it is unlikely 90% of these will never become couples anyways. Finally, the reason I use the SPECULATIVE label, as everyone may not  have picked up on the comments or events that foreshadow a coupling or made the connections as to why these couples might be a good fit.

The poll suggestion was made three years ago, so I will explain the logic behind some of the pairs.

Jaime & Brienne (chemistry, Lannister-Tarth alliance)
Early on Jaime & Brienne was looking more like  it was going to happen, than it does now, but we have been repeatedly been given reminders of their connection. However, I don't think you find a fan who doesn't think they would be good match, whether or not it comes it to fruition.

Arya & Gendry, (close friends, only age appropriate person we have seen either interact with, lack of alternative matches, Stark-Baratheon alliance)
Arya was promised to one of the Frey sons. But, I don't see that happening now that she killed Walder Frey, I like Arya & Gendry match, both are outsiders and are good fit for both as they don't seem to match with anyone else.

Jon & Sansa (cousins, resolves conflicting claims and Sansa's hunger for power, Targaryen-Stark alliance)
Jon & Sansa
makes sense once you remove Daenerys from the equation (spoiler???). Although, I do like the Sansa & Tyrion match better. Thier reunion seems possible based on the foreshadowing in the series and maturation of both characters. Plus, the fact they are technically married to each other, albeit it wasn't consummated.

Varys-Olenna (great fit, like two peas in a pod, but more platonic than romantic, lack of alternative matches)
Varys-Olenna would have been a good fit for both. As they don't seem to match with anyone else, especially with romantic relations being off the table. They even look and dress alike.

I don't think any of these combinations is really out there as a possibility.

It looks like your image for Rhaegar Targaryen & Lyanna Stark went missing. Please either add that option back or just edit and save the list so we don't risk an error.

'Worst' list: your image for Jon/Daenarys seems to be missing, and there is no description for option 2.

Typo in #12 (Arya Stark), and #23 should say cousins, not nephew/aunt.

'Good poll. Should the title be Worst Matched? (Worst Matched... Couple)

Corrected
#12

Maisie Williams
Elmar Frey & Arya Stark
#23

Eugene Simon, Lena Headey
Lancel Lannister & Cersei Lannister first cousin/first cousin

I think Worst Match is proper, because it goes beyond actual couples and includes speculative couples (present, past, proposed or one-sided).

Plus, I fixed a missing image and missing caption error.

Thanks for making the edits. "Matched" is definitely correct, regardless of the status of the relationships, including merely speculative couples. What matters is the relationship of the word "match" to the word "couples." "Match" is correct in the question because a noun is needed there; in the title, "couples" is the noun, "matched" is the adjective modifying the noun, and "worst" is the adverb modifying the adjective. "Match," though, can only be a noun or a verb.

Wow, that sounds a whole lot more annoying than I intended. Sorry. I need to leave my instructor hat in the closet and only wear it when I mean to instruct, lol.

Corrected, Worst Matched "Game of Thrones" Couple

I will have to re-push Best Match "Game of Thrones" Couples for the same reason.

Thanks, I prefer the long explanation to understand the reasoning behind it. I have a question though. I assume that titles can sentence fragments, then do the same rules apply always?
