PS: The Most Impressive Sub-Genre Icon

Intro:

Some actors are defining their sub-genre like no other. We prooved in polls: When you talk about scream queens/kings, there is no other actor or actress leading with a distance at top like Jamie Lee Curtis. She is the defined scream majesty in horror movies including  generations. There are actors in other genres that can be accepted for an equal measurement of qualifying in their genre. Which of these other sub-genre icons would you choose as the most clear candidate? ... the one and only ... Discuss here.

Rules:

No documentation, animee, animated, tv series, only icons of movies rated higher than 7.5/10. I need good quality images of the icon.

List:

Changed "sub-genre" to "genre or sub-genre" in the title and the description.
A late change, sorry.

Oh ... errrh ... I try to reach a 50% female quote. Suggestion of female icons preferred.

Depends on your suggestion. Which icon  would you have suggested?

Dr. Dave Bowman (Keir Dullea) in 2001: A Space Odyssey is an Astronaut icon (at least to me).

Ok, this is a pretty good one. I kicked one of the list. (The former candidate had no real fitting image) This is a good choice. It's on the list. :) Thank you for suggesting. :D

It's kind of interesting, but I thought maybe not all these types of characters are "genres or subgenres", and not all of them are unique enough to be "the one and only".

Peter:

Thank you for the input. Can you please get a little closer? I think the idea is pretty good, but also know that (for me) by language-obstacles, it might be better when better arranged. Maybe I should reword the title, the intro or you have some candidates that are not good enough for the titles they got on the list. I would like to know which these are and why. It even might be that there is a misunderstanding because of my still lacking language skills. ;)

My intention was not to disrespect other characters of the same genre. When I say the one and only James Bond is played by Sean Connery or the one and only space heroine is played by Sigourney Weaver, then it is surely based on my personal movie experiences as one of the audience. Im pretty sure that many people of my age would agree with it, but it is still only a guessed state. ;) Maybe you convince me on some of the "sub-genre-icons". It can be the the term "sub-genre-icon" is not the correct term for it. Is there a better that I do not know? :D

How would you work out that idea? :D

Thank you, Peter. :D

I think the text is okay, I just don't understand all options.

Samurai movies, pirate movies, secret agent movies are genres, but punk daughter? Korean veterans? Robin Hood?

I wouldn't mind a shorter list.

Ok, I can do that. I will cut out these three options, even though I'm a little sad that one lady has to go. There are so less on the list. Maybe I should have called it "coming-of-age queen", but then the punk from 'Breakfast Club' would have been a better choice. I'll cut these three options. If there are further changes that would make the idea better, please be free to show it up. :D

Shortened the intro to minimum. ;)
