Poll Suggestion: Unnecessary Sequels

Sometimes sequels aren't necessary but get made any ways, whether you like it or not. Just one movie or a few can tell a story perfectly until someone decides to continue it. These are movies you may wish never existed. You may wonder why (other than a simple nostalgic cash grab) they were even considered to begin with. Which sequel was the most unnecessary (and thus negating any subsequent sequels)?

Sugg: Terminator: Dark Fate
To me, Dark Fate was an unnecessary sequel.  Although it wasn't as bad as I fearrd, it was wasn't too wonderful, either.  Terminator: Genysis wrapped everything nicely; we didn't need to come back in with more future drama.  :D

FYC:
Highlander II: The Quickening (1991) (although I love this movie, it's hard to deny that original was supposed to be standalone and whole existence of this is an anomaly. Although I'm also glad it started a franchise.)

My vote would likely go to Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003). The more I encounter it with age, the less appeal it has to me and it might be one of the most soulless cashgrabs of a sequel I've ever seen. Each of the following sequels, no matter how panned, clearly at least tries something and takes risks. This one was a studio product to such a blatant extent, it hurts.

For me I can't pick between Terminator 3, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

T2 came out when I was four, but I think it's definitely the best sci-fi action movie and maybe the best action movie period (Die Hard is up there with it).

The Last Crusade came out when I was two, but it's my favorite Indiana Jones movie. He even actually rode off into the sunset!

And Revenge of the Sith came out a month before I graduated from high school, so it's kind of special to me. I thought Star Wars had a nice and peaceful death in 2005. But then Disney decided to dig up its corpse and play Weekend at Bernie's with it. After Return of the Jedi there may be small crime and a few murders here and there, and some wars (no pun intended) may happen in the future. But no dictatorship or totalitarianism.
