Poll Suggestion: The Soundtrack of Your Drive to Work

Music provides a distinctive stylistic motif in many movies.

While driving to work what movie soundtrack or score do you prefer to listen to instead of less desirable content available on the radio?

Sorry. I had some jobs after school. The job I do now I do about 27 years. When someone is at a job for so long, he might forget what it is like to be jobless, so forgive me, please. I guess you did have a job before. What was it? Was it interessting? Maybe your next job is even better? I wish you.

I was joking :) but yeah, I used to work and I quit my two last jobs so I don't have anyone to blame but me... it was marketing studies, data management and all that stuff, nothing transcending but I could make a decent salary. Moving from a country to another, I believed I could easily find a job, big mistake! "instable" is written all over my resume now :) so I'm working as a freelance consultant and occasional writer, waiting for something steadier to come in the picture. I wish i could have a movie-related job, but that would be too much asking from destiny :)

I don't have a car and am afraid to drive anyway, but I guess we can all relate to the question in some way, whether from memory or imagination :)

By the way Elmo, forgive me for my ignorance or if the question is too personal, but France still seems to play an important cultural role in Morocco. Is French your second language? Did you learn it in Morocco?

French is my first language because it's the same whether we talk about the writing and the speaking. I speak Moroccan which is a form of Arabian language but NOT the literal one that I write, so they might as well be considered separate languages.

English might be my second language or it's a tie with Arabic. But when I curse or when I live a very strong emotion i can only react with my mother tongue, like anybody I guess. And how about you? How many languages?

Is it usual for Moroccans to have French as a first language? The Wikipedia article is somewhat undecided about it, it's nice to find out from someone with first-hand experience :)

For me, only German and English. It could have been more if I hadn't been so badly organized and disinformed in my studies but I'm determined to take a French class next semester.

No, it's not usual... but most Moroccans talk French or understand it, in some regions, it's Spanish but they often speak a European language at least unless you go in some remote areas... by the way, many Moroccans consider the Berber language to be their mother tongue so it all depends on the region, Morocco is quite a melting pot actually, and there are many Germanisms in the Berber language, originally they're Caucasian people so I wouldn't be surprised about the existence of similar roots... anyway, it's fascinating once you get interested to these aspects of culture and language etc.

Do you speak spanish, too? I just speak german and a kind of english. Sometimes I speak Filser-Englisch, which is a german-grammar-englisch with some german words in it. I'm so inperfect. ;)))

Awesome idea!  I pick: "Mix of All Styles Above."  I love rock, 80's, classical, epic, musical, and some electronic.  I'm so weird.  :)
