Poll Suggestion: Patriotic Best Picture Nominees (July 4th)

Whether in their overarching theme, in the journey pursued by their characters or the idealistic spirit that drive them or even in the way they thoughtfully question the application of America's own ideals in difficult or pivotal times of history, all these Best Picture nominees display (directly or indirectly) a certain devotion to America's own ideals and deserve to be called patriotic.

Which of these patriotic films is your favorite?

The Sand Pebbles (1966)
West Side Story (1961)
The Alamo (1960)
Sayonara (1957)
Born Yesterday (1950)
Battleground (1949)
Twelve O'Clock High (1949)
Wilson (1944)
Since You Went Away (1944)

Thanks, I will consider these suggestions based on the summaries... but some leave me perplex, how is "West Side Story" patriotic?

I was thinking of the America musical number. But it may not be good. I suggested some based on summaries or keywords. I’m not familiar with all of them.

No problem... I'll do the homework... movies like "Wilson" seem pretty legit... others strike me as typical war movies but not necessarily the flag-brandishing type... I may be wrong though.
