@BonaFideBOSS It's quite hard for a 2022 most anticipated poll to be published after the first few months of the year. It might be better to focus this poll in 2023 or change it in some way to avoid making a reference to the whole year.

I suggested this poll a year ago on September 30, 2021. Since then you guys didn't consider publishing this? Why?

I constantly bumped this post and I even posted a comment mentioning poll moderators, and also tagged Dan but still no response.

I'm not changing anything.

Sometimes we miss a few suggestions, even timely ones. I can't speak for my colleagues, but personally I am not the biggest fan of "most anticipated" polls since they have an expiration date. And I guess I don't prioritize video game polls.

I don't see why you can't change the question to "Favorite video game of 2022" and this could still go live. Plus, it would ensure that people can vote in the poll indefinitely.

Please, please don't stop making polls because this one wasn't picked. You are a very valuable member of this community.

@BonaFideBOSS My comments were not meant to discourage you, but to help you getting this, which you clearly care about, published.

I never said or implied this wasn't ever considered, but as Jess said, this is a time sensitive poll, and we had to choose among many 'most anticipated' polls suggested at the start of the year that would only be viable for a short period of time.

I'm sorry if you would have liked this better than several other that were published, but we had no way of knowing and movies and TV suggestions were a priority.

Indeed it would be a shame to lose you over this.

Please consider our comments. My suggestion to change the question was only meant to help get your poll published.

And may I ask, are you more upset that the poll didn't go live or that we didn't respond to your posts?

Many other things, not just that. One of them is, I have to be active regularly, both in bumping old polls and suggesting new ones for y'all to consider publishing my polls.

Check out these stats.

I was active at the beginning of the year, then the rate dropped when I became inactive despite having more than 400 poll suggestions. Same for the previous year; the rate was high when I was active, then it dropped when I was busy and took a break, and when I came back in December to make end-of-year polls, the rate went back up.
So it looks like only when I'm constantly bumping and/or suggesting new polls EVERYDAY, my polls are noticed and considered or the 400+ threads get lost with time.
And sometimes even after all that some PS like this one are not considered. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I still don't get why this wasn't published. It was very popular, got 10K+ views on IMDb and almost 2K views here making it one of the most viewed PS of all time.
If I knew y'all don't consider the same type of PS from the same author, I wouldn't have suggested any other "most anticipated" polls. 😐

Thank you for explaining.

We have never claimed to not consider the same type of polls from the same author, but as Pencho said, you got several other most anticipated polls at the start of the year, and I guess this one just wasn't prioritized until it was too late.

I realize you can't be active all the time, and of course it can help to bump suggestions for us to notice them, but you have over 400 polls, you have the Poll Maker Badge, you get at least 4 polls per month, and still you are concerned that we don't push more of your polls?

I'm sorry that it made you feel this way, and I really mean that.

Hi,

I'm sorry about my bitching. I'm just frustrated with life. Took part of anger out on you guys. I just need a break, I guess.

Also, thanks for explaining.

And just to make things clearer, one of the reason for the polls in the first few pages have often a bigger chance of getting published, is because usually a part of them is related to a current event or to a movie or a person that's in the news at any given time, and selecting polls that are timely is one of the factors we are asked to consider.

While you are inactive, then other authors are probably creating suggestions related to timely topics and thus those polls get published faster. But as your own data shows, even when you are inactive, some of your older suggestion do get published even if you are not there to push them, so they are never discarded or forgotten.

All of us pushing polls started as regular poll makers, and this work is completely voluntary and we do it in our spare time, but your comments can also help us to do it better. I must admit that list views is not a factor that we considered when choosing polls, but it is indeed a piece of data we could consider and we'll try to do it in the future.

Everyone can use a break at sometime, and I hope anything that can be frustrating for you in your life right now gets solved soon. We do appreciate your work, as well as that of all other board regulars, and we always try to be fair to everyone so poll making is always enjoyable.

We really hope to have you back when you feel up to it.

Yes, I know this is a voluntary work, for all of us, the only one making money out of it is IMDb lol. My intention wasn't to question your job, you guys did make me happy a few times. Kinda sad for this but okay.

I had plans to make end of year polls but I'm gonna skip them ('cause like last year most of them didn't make it this year) and might just create one for best video games only because of God of War: Ragnarok which is releasing on Nov 9, 2022.

But I'm not sure yet. I didn't find anything from this year yet that'd blow my mind. I hope I don't have to say that after playing GOW.

If that game wasn't on the list, I wouldn't have gotten mad. There were many other polls which wasn't published but I let them slide. I really wanted this to go live. I created banners and whatnot.

Check out this leaked gameplay footage. That amazing Mjolnir and badass Thor's voice by Ryan Hurst.

And like I said earlier (maybe in other thread), most of my PSs are still open, so I'll focus on publishing them first. But I won't bump them.

Also, If something releases that I like very much, something extraordinary, then I might create a poll for it.

Lastly, I want to ask you guys to please reponse to anyone reaching you out. Don't leave them hanging for months. At least something that'd tell us that you have noticed our message. Thanks!

If you need a break, take a break. Life can be pretty tough. I guess everyone knows that.  I won't overwhelm myself. That's why I'm often lesser active for some time. That's because I got a life beside IMDb and the poll board. I'm not superman and won't demand that from others. Got a vacation at the moment, so I had time to work out a new idea on Stan Lee. If I hadn't I wouldn't. Just a few weeks ago I had the idea, but was stuck in real-life work, so I've put it off then.

I understand if you need a break from creating new polls, but I hope you will continue with the letter series. It's different because it's an ongoing poll board series, and there are many users involved. And you know those polls will be published.

If I wrote a poll idea which wich makes sense to be released best before or at least in the beginning of 2022, I would also skip the idea. It's October now, the years is ending in a little more than 2 month. I understand the idea as a preview to check, what people anticipate, but I guess most games are released now, so it doesn't make sense to respond the poll as a voter. The idea is vanished by time going by.
