Oh Boy, this is going to be tough. I've watched many foreign films, but I don't remember their names or the name of the actors/characters in it.

Almost all the foreign films I've watched was on television. And they were dubbed in English. The only actor comes to my mind when I think about foreign movies is Jackie Chan. LOL

Imma need sometime to think about it. I'll post my top 10 list later.

An interesting question: from my perspective as I'm from Ukraine US movies are technically foreign, so it might help to add "(Non-English)" to the title of the suggestion. Just five cents. :)

My Top 10, so far, despite still being very subjective I tried my best not just to pile up favorite movies, but concentrate on certain level of cinematic perfection:
1. Le samouraï (1967)
2. Angst (1983)
3. Evge (2019)
4. Les quatre cents coups (1959)
5. Beau travail (1999)
6. C'est arrivé près de chez vous (1992)
8. Kin-dza-dza! (1986)
9. Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain (2001)
10. Paris, je t'aime (2006)

Hey there,

It's not on the title, but it's in the description. I did think about it before; that's why I added "non-American" and not "non-English" because England movies are also in English.

-> I didn't add it to the title because I'd like to keep it clean and simple and as short as possible.

Thanks for your concern tho. I'll be adding your top 10 list soon. I'm eating rn.

I know my first two would be Three Colors: Red and Salaam Bombay! but I'll have to look through the 52 page-list of films that I've seen to jog my memory for the rest. Once I have the time to look, it won't take long. I really like this idea.

Oh, I'm assuming you mean just feature films? (No shorts, for example; what about documentaries?) 'The Red Balloon' would be on my list, too, if it weren't a short.

The idea was feature films, but I don't have any objection regarding documentaries or short.

Edit: But Yeah, I think it'd be nice to have only feature films. Thank you.

The word foreign here means films that are not in the English language.

I know a few of the films you've listed are also available in another language (s). But this list is about non-English cinema only.

Films like The Dollars Trilogy and 'Once Upon a Time in the West' are dubbed in Italian.

Maybe I should re-write the description.

Sorry, I hope you understand.

I didn't even know there was an Italian version of that film.

I generally do like foriegn films, but I actually haven't seen that many.
I only have three, so maybe I can be the weird option.  :)
1. I Am Dragon
2. Ragnarok (not to be confused with Thor: Ragnarok)
3. La belle et la bete (2014)

If I think of anything else I will let you know.  :)

Is Das Boot an American film, or foreign?

Das Boot = The Boat, a German movie about a World War 2 submarine (U-Boot = undersea boat)

I meant the movie about the soldiers during WW2, I believe, who decided to have one day of peace on Christmas.

Do you mean the French movie Joyeux Noël? That's WW1, though.

Ragnarok is the correct link, but you have it listed as 2003; it is 2013.

Hmm... there are two I can add but the titles are German so it may take me a while to find them on IMDb... thanks for reminding me!

I have my other picks, but I cannot currently find them on IMDb (because the site won't load right now), but I will link them as soon as I can!
