Poll Suggestion: Good Directors? Yes. Great Storytellers? Hell, Yeah!

Not only these directors know how to handle a camera but they also excel in the difficult art of storytelling.

Whether for their use of clever editing techniques, unconventional directing, a perfect dosage of of wit, irony and self-awareness (which can be regarded as deliberate self-parody to viewers whose intelligence and sense of humor are most trusted), these directors can tell a banal story but the way they tell it will always be entertaining.

Which of these directors would you say is the best storyteller?

I probably forgot a few, but I know I don't mean conventional mainstream directors such as Spielberg or Nolan, of course you can't be a good director without knowing how to tell a good story but I really meant those directors from whom you expect to be vastly entertained by their unique approach to the story, I mean the form should matter more than the content.

Perhaps Pedro Almodovar would fit in?
