[Poll] [ROUND 2] Nominations for the worst movie of all time

Welcome to Round 2 of the nominations for the worst movie of all time.

This poll is a continuation of movies discussed in Round 1, which you can read about here.

---------------------------------
So, in Round 1 you, as part of the IMDB community, had the chance to suggest which films you thought deserved to be in the running for the prominent, or not-so-prominent, accolade of worst film of all time.

In this round our goal is to narrow the list down by voting on the titles you feel deserve this award the most.

The list of titles available to vote on is HERE (Round 1).

The current vote count will be shown HERE (Round 2).

Here's how it works:

  1. No further nominations will be accepted. Only Votes for current titles.
  2. You may vote on the titles in the list above regardless of whether or not you originally nominated a title for the list.
  3. Every person gets 3 VOTES
  4. You may distribute these votes however you see fit - but only on titles in the list. For example you may give one title all 3 votes, you may give 1 to 3 different titles or 2 to one title and 1 to another.
  5. The total vote count will be displayed under each title, as a new list here

So to summarize:
  • Decide which title/s you want to vote for.
  • Post here telling us what you want to vote for and how many votes you wish to give each title.
  • Remember you have 3 votes total. You can allocate them amongst titles on the list as you please.
  • The resulting vote counts will be displayed on the new list.

Feel free to ask questions, or add comments about the poll below. And don't forget to cast your votes!

Voting will remain open for a decent amount of time (similar to how Round 1 proceeded).

Good luck, and happy voting!

Forgot to add the top 5* voted films will move onto round 3. The rest will be eliminated

*This number is dependant on tie-break scenarios.

Also Note: One of the things I wish to make clear is that this poll is about movies that are extremely bad and those you hate. Not those that are so bad you love. When voting, you should pick the title/s that repulse you, not those you secretly enjoy ;)

I give my three votes, as follows:

Vote #1: Birdemic: Shock and Terror
Vote #2: The Star Wars Holiday Special
Vote #3:  Samurai Cop

P.S. If I had a fourth vote, I'd have given it to A Talking Cat?!?  Seriously, great Nom, Stephen.  :)
And Happy Birthday, Richard!

Thanks, I'll be back a bit later on and I'll make sure those votes get counted.

Richard, I'm curious about your idea as to how this will become a poll.  You said we will narrow it down to 5 (which is fine) and then go on to a third round.  And then how many will we narrow it down to?  There needs to be enough to have an interesting poll.

The next (3rd) round will narrow it down to the top 2. Then it will be a face off.

The winner of the face off (or loser depending on your viewpoint lol) will be unofficially declared as the worst movie of all time.

Because I cannot directly add polls to IMDB I'm essentially using the community to act as a poll unto itself. (I can't provide functionality like "vote" buttons on the list itself, so I'm letting people vote here).

P.S. If you have an alternative approach in mind feel free to suggest it :) Thank you for all your hard work in helping with this btw, I'll be crediting you specifically in Round 2's list when I get a moment.

Oh, I see!  Face-Offs are fine, but when it comes to something as important as choosing the *unofficial* worst movie ever, you might need more options.

I was thinking we'd narrow it down to about 15 or 10, so people could choose from a few more.

I don't know if you've suggested polls to IMDb before or not; above you stated that you cannot directly add a poll or add vote buttons...
when someone adds a poll sugg, they put it under the category of "Idea" not "Question".  Once the list has been altered to it's author's liking, the poll admin (or whatever they're called, I'm really not sure, lol!) decide whether or not to make it into a live poll (which in this case, they would, because it's a great idea!).

Face-Offs are usually saved for choosing between two or three related things (like "Face-Off: Which Narnia Movie is the Best?" or "Face-Off: Darth Vader vs. Kylo Ren", etc).  I agree we need to narrow down (35 choices can be overwhelming, lol) but we need to leave something for the IMDb voters to choose from.

Hope this makes sense.

P.S. You're very welcome!  :D

Also what you can do is narrow it down to 10 or so, like I said, then after the poll has been live for quite a while make it a face-off between the top two or three spot holders.

Because I cannot directly add polls to IMDB I'm essentially using the community to act as a poll unto itself. (I can't provide functionality like "vote" buttons on the list itself, so I'm letting people vote here).

This might be important to clarify: None of us regular users can provide those buttons. We just suggest something and with some effort and a bit of luck, they get chosen by others to "go live" with buttons to click on and for people who visit IMDb poll page to see.

Here's a helpful post with further information if you haven't seen it yet: https://getsatisfaction.com/imdb/topics/faq-so-you-want-to-make-an-imdb-poll-heres-how

Thank you both for the feedback. I do realize that regular users cannot directly add polls, so this was kind of an unofficial work around to allow the GS community to vote.

Regarding numbers for the next round (or live poll suggestion depending on how things go) I feel it's going to have to, for the moment, remain somewhat dynamic.

After we have a decent amount of votes in we'll see - we might end up with 20 titles getting 1 vote each, or we might have one title with 19 votes and one with 1 vote - just as an example. The overall results will strongly influence the next round.

I might have round 3 as the actual live poll suggestion and end GS voting there, it all depends on how well this round is received.

Hope that makes sense :)

Yes, alb's right, I hope I made that clear, Richard.  :)
I just don't know how familiar Richard is with the process here, and I wanted him to know that his poll can be anything he wants.

Sure, that makes sense.  :)
It will all depend on what happens here.

Yes, it's always good practice to assume a contributor knows very little - I don't mean  this in a demeaning way, it's just a safer and more constructive assumption than offering them esoteric advice - where they may not know what you are on about ;-)

Votes added as requested.

Also, just to point out - for now you can change your mind, if you make a mistake. At least for the time being. Changes of mind probably will be not permitted after a certain point in time - because the idea is only to correct mistakes not to rig a titles position.

Richard,
on the previous thread, someone pointed out that the movies we suggest should be ones that are not just really bad, but leave us feeling depressed and sick after viewing (or something like that)  I would like to retract my Hercules in New York and replace it with Alice in Wonderland (2010).  I would replace one of my votes with that, too.  I know it's high budget, but I just never felt to offended after viewing a movie, ever, actually. :/
I promise this won't happen again.  :)

This request is being processed under special consideration

As you have provided a valid and understandable reason for the retraction and amendment I have reached the following decision: Your request is accepted.

Any other person/s with similar requests will be treated the same way, i.e. will need a valid reason or will be rejected.

Both nominations and votes will be adjusted shortly.

Thank you :)

Thanks for pointing out the whole 'love to hate' vs 'hate to death' difference - I'll add to my first response here to clarify that.

2 votes for The Weird World of LSD

1 vote for Movie 43

Those are the only two titles I have seen.

Thank you for casting your votes! They have been successfully counted and the list has been updated to reflect this.

As The Weird World of LSD is the first title to receive 2 votes it is currently in the lead. It's early days yet - but we are beginning to see things start to shape up.

Thanks again!

Yeah!  And if Rnd 2 has been around a while and we don't get enough voters, you can always give everyone 2 or 3 more votes to distribute.

No, I have not yet seen that. Should I make a point of doing so? :)

Well... I really don't want you to fall into physical and mental illness... :) ... but there is one sane way to watch: https://www.rifftrax.com/the-star-wars-holiday-special
So funny I still watch it and cry!  :D  Plus the version they riff is taped from T.V. in the 70's, so it comes with riffs on old commercial breaks!

As far as mental and physical illness goes after my last playlist of awful movies I think things are a bit late! :p lol - I like to watch a movie (or at least part of it) in it's original form before watching the rifftrax version, so that's what I'll do. Thank you for the link, perhaps I'll laugh my way back to sanity...although at this point that seems a long, long way off! ;-)

Here is a link to the original Special on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_mmWCuYS0o

Here is a link to a 'Best Of' for the RiffTrax version; it's pretty long (about 30 minutes) so that's nice :): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E6hJB-Kj2XQ

This is very interesting, you are really doing a great job with this dynamic. Finally I will distribute my votes in this way:
Vote # 1: Jack And Jill
Vote # 2 Fantastic Four
Vote # 3: Dragon Ball Evolution

Anyone else like to cast a vote or 2 (or even 3)?

4.4K Messages

Richard,
I suggest you let this stay up for a few more days, and if nobody else votes, just suggest it as a 35 choice poll.  :)
Not everyone on here is as fascinated with B movies as we are (lol)
Maybe this should just go live so people on IMDb but not GS can vote.
But you do what you think is best.  :)

141 Messages

Yeah, I'll probably do that unless we get an influx of voters.

Are you still accepting one more vote? Because I would give it to you Troll 2.

141 Messages

 •

Yeah we aren't getting a lot of voters so I'll allow existing voters to vote up to 5 times instead of 3. I'll amend the list with your vote when I get a chance. :)
