Many of the reboots and/or revivals have the potential of being awful. I believe these are the two worse ideas for a reboot: Boomerang and Conan the Barbarian. Boomerang is at best a marginal film. Eddie Murphy made it tolerable.

I saw a rough cut of Conan the Barbarian. It was awful. I never saw the final cut of the film.
I found out after I saw the film that the guy smoking a cigar and taking notes in the back of the theater was Dino De Laurentiis. If the producers go back to the original source materials, Conan the Barbarian has the potential of being tolerable.

Oh, there are some terrible ideas in there. By far the two worst are “Double Dare” and “Sister, Sister”.
I think DD may have a chance if they restructure the game into something interesting to watch.

Thanks! I went with First Wives Club. I hated the film, so I'd probably hate a TV show.

"First Wives Club" as a comedy series? The concept of the film is that these women's lives were ruined by their ex-husbands (in some cases cheated out of their money by said husbands) and they are repaying the favor. And what brings them together is the suicide of a mutual friend who was similarly betrayed. Does this sound funny?

I'm not defending the film because I never liked it, but have you seen it? It is 100% a comedy.

Involving suicide, revenge, embezzlement, statutory rape. Personally I found it as "funny" as the average Martin Scorsese film.

Is this a creative industry or a manufacturing industry? I'd much rather see them take a chance on something new rather than some remake of tacky shows from the 80's & 90's.

Rob Webster It was always a bit of both, to be honest. Even as early as 1930's and even 1920's there were tons of remakes, some from the same directors just updating the concepts to new technological advancements, some just to take advantage of recent successes.
