Live Poll: The Many Faces of William Holden

We don't talk much about actor and Hollywood legend William Holden,
do we? it's overlooking the wide range of memorable (and a few iconic)
roles he played, as evidenced by these pictures. His career might have had some ups and downs but it had certainly enriched cinematic memories forever.

So, as a tribute to William Holden, which of these pictures from his movies (each one represented once) is your favorite?

I tried to keep it as one picture per movie but free to suggest any picture you think is better (or from a film I forgot), not a group picture, his face should be visible enough and no writing on it. And also, if you're making one or many suggestions, you can still name your favorite picture. Thanks :)

I wrote that before going to sleep, I knew I had to fix one thing or two before the morning. Thanks for pointing them out.

Also, I've never heard of him being referred to as Billy, just Bill or William. There is also an Australian actor named Billy Holden.

Yes, it was Bill Holden, not Billy, and I head Bill used in a "What's my Line" episode?

I concur, Bill Holden, familiarly and William Holden, professionally

PS I uploaded some images for The World of Suzie Wong, The Horse Soldiers
and Love Is a Many-Splendored Thing.

That's cool, I struggled to find a good one for the Wild Bunch.

Yes, all around it is very challenging to find pics, let alone good ones.

You won't believe it, that's the only suitable one I found too, but I wanted one with the iconic Will-Kane-like vest. Oh well, c'est la vie! I might take this one after all.

And now that I made the changes, can I have your favorite pictures; Jen and Brat? I'm curious to know which Holden "face" you found the most appealing; and as I said in the introduction:

And also, if you're making one or many suggestions, you can still name your favorite picture.

Ug. I wrote a long response to this and lost it as I was on my cell phone. I'll try to reconstruct what I said. BTW, in your intro you have the word "se" - should be "we".

My pick would not be a shot of his face but rather that of his back floating in the swimming pool in Sunset Boulevard. Otherwise I would use the disgusted shot of him from the I Love Lucy episode he appeared in. Lucy keeps turning around in her booth to sneak a peek at him at the Brown Derby until she turns around to find her nose-to-nose with the fed up star. But you're not including TV so...

Your pic for Love is a Many... is distorted. I suggest you pick another.

I moved on during this weekend so I could only use my Iphone, hence all these typo mistakes. Thanks

To the first house I own.
Now, technically, it's the bank account that "owns" it, but we were tired of renting so we needed (me+wife+lil' girl) our "little house on the prairie", it's a bit cozy but there are two roofs so it feels bigger (I'm an apartment guy so I'm not really used to it), it's taking form little by little but my main concern is the stairs, I must find something to block the way in case my daughter (4) wakes up at night and something to avoid the squeaky noises it makes when you climb them down.
Still, home sweet home.

Yep, it's a matter of a few days before we get this ready so I just hope there won't be any trouble by then.
I guess I shouldn't worry much, kids love stairs and you can't keep an eye on them all the time :)

It's a little town in the North of France, not very far from Lille (it's very close to the Belgian "frontier") and an hour away from Paris. But talk about a change, when I started on this board, I was living in Casablanca :ç

That's the story yeah, but she was born in Casablanca, but now she's as French as the Camembert :)

Oh, may I suggest a small edit in the intro?

His career might have had some ups and downs but it certainly enriched cinematic memories forever.

{I just removed "had" from after "but it.")

How many points did I lose for that one? lol
No seriously, thanks, I always appreciate these edit suggestions, and my initial reaction is always "damn, that's right, why didn't I notice it myself?" Always in a hurry, I should read myself before clicking on "submit".

FYI: There is an episode of MASH that is centered on the film, The Moon Is Blue. On the same day that the episode was shown, TCM showed the film. That was a strange coincidence.
