I think this list would be better if, in addition to the Klingon titles, the entries included a translation back into English of the Klingon title.

gromit82,

I added the translation of the Klingon title back into English. As you can easily observe, the results can be rather strange.

Translating the results of an automated translation back into the original language can lead to some rather bizarre results.

The classic example is translating "The spirit is will, but the flesh is weak." from English to Russian then back to English using an early machine translator.

English: The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.
Russian: Дух готов, но плоть слаба.
English: The whisky is strong, but the meat is rotten.

I could not find an official list of Klingon titles for Shakespearean plays.

The vocabulary for Klingon is limited. The original English titles frequently do not translate. When that happened I used the best approximation of an English title or a key phrase from the play that would translate into Klingon.

What the heck does this mean? I know that this is a school subject in Amerika. But i'm totally stunned, that actually some people took lessons at Klingon. ;D

Anyway congrats for exact this poll. ;)

The Klingon text for the poll is a loose translation of:
Shakespeare in the Original Klingon

Klingon Chancellor Gorkon states, "You've not experienced Shakespeare until you have read him in the original Klingon," in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1991). Which of these Klingon language Shakespearean films would you most like to see?

After voting, please discuss here.

This is the loose translation into Klingon:

qaSpu'DI' DawIvpu', nuqneH ja'chuq naDev.

This is the translation back into English:
Klingon Shakespeare

Klingons have the State Chancellor gorkon and the blind nehqu',  "new Shakespeare in Klingon, " the journey to a star with four: the undiscovered country. These film picture Klingon Shakespeare, but what is more likely?

You have chosen when he was here, and saying, what do you want,.

Henry IV (1984) starring Marcello Mastrioanni does not belong to the list. It was based on a play by Luigi Pirandello, not Shakespeare. I'm sure that's true even in Klingon. And the list omits two of the greatest Shakespearean films, Orson Welles' OTHELLO (1952) and THE CHIMES AT MIDNIGHT aka FALSTAFF (1966). I also believe you left out the 1968 A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM with a cast that included Helen Mirren, Judi Dench and Ian Holm. Unless those versions were not translated into Klingon.

Frederic Lombardi,

Sadly, I did not realize my mistakes until the poll went live.
