I haven't heard of Greta in the last 2 or 3 years. I wouldn't see her as important in 2022. She was more like a 2019 trend.

Do you suggest to wipe her of the list?

Do you suggest to wipe her of the list?

That is what I'm suggesting but perhaps take a second opinion.

I looked at her Wikipedia page in order to be objective, and it looks like she was invisible in 2022 AD. On Wikipedia, there is not a single mention of anything she did in 2022: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greta_Thunberg

I guess you're right. I will wipe her from the list, but put her back, if other users recommend. I guess the loss of her voice in public has different causes.

One of them is the most obvious. The war of Russia against the Ukraine. If the war doesn't get stopped, we can forget about stopping climate change. It's not only the masses of fuel that burned way by burning fuel depots, but also all other aspects. Russia burns millions of tons of gas they can't sell at the moment. For nothing, it just burns away. I've got an Ukrainian colleague who's wife is from Russia. They visited Russia times ago and he told me some things about. Partly he told me about the behavior according to the environment on the rural countryside. Not funny!

Since Europe got it how awfully it turned into dependency on gas of Russia, all signs are on GO for green energy. We realized that the dependency from Russia is toxic. Now everyone discusses about green Energy. Wind power plants, solar panels, tidal power plants and so on. So Greta's effort is not necessary at the moment. At the moment it's a self-runner.

And of course the peak of the pandemic was also a better reason to not demonstrate in such big crowds. So Greta is not so popular at the moment, but her public engagement could rise again.

Greta apparently made one of the most popular tweets of all time a few days ago.

She gained a lot of respect from me. Her tweet was just a clash. But, she absolutely destroyed Andrew Tate. It was time for that tall pretentious sofab to close his big mouth. He will be laughed at for the rest of his life that is if he does not get prison to life.

this is what happens when you don’t recycle your pizza boxes

🤣😂

She does not deserve (in my opinion) a place on this list though. Her tweet was mostly benign, it had no real consequences.

I want to be clear. I defend freedom of speech, and I don't believe Andrew Tate deserves to be put in jail because my opinion differs from his. Though, some of his comments could be categorized as heinous and dangerous, and should be censored.

He should have a free trial no matter how severe the charges brought against him are.

But, as someone who dislikes' opinion, I get immense satisfaction in seeing the way Greta Thunberg destroyed him.

I didn't even know who Andrew Tate was until a week or two ago, when I watched a short exposé about him by the infamous Jake Tran. In general, I'm not too familiar with any of the viral "influencers" to emerge within the last ten years, maybe except for Brian Awadis.

I shortened the title to: "Persons of International Interest of 2022"

I think it's better like that.

C'mon, the list is great and should be released in the last days of 2022, at least in the early 2023 days! Better today than tomorrow.

Well, maybe some folks aren't as enthusiastic about it as the folks who've conversed thus far. I mean, what apart from the problems being faced by Europe right now is so special about the calendar year 2022? I know it isn't fair to fault any IMDb poll suggestion for being Eurocentric or Americentric, but almost always it is just the same business-as-usual kind of stuff.

I don't think that RuPaul is still such a sensation. Guess how many news I heard about RuPaul in the common media this year. Exact zero. And Germany is the biggest industrial nation within free Europe. With RuPaul it's more like Greta Thunberg, who had her year in 2019, 2020, but at the moment the news are very quiet about her. I heard maybe 2 times of her that year. But it wasn't heavy news, she was more like a figure on the border in this year's news.

"Officiating" isn't the best word choice. "Current" is better (or you can omit the word altogether).

Yair Lapid is no longer prime minister of Israel.

FYC:

Lionel Messi

Gianni Infantino

I would recommend the word "incumbent" instead of the word "officiating", but the word "current" may suffice alternately.
