Thanks, I appreciate the suggestions, but I won't be able to use either, as the movies have to be set in the 2020's decade from 01 January 2020 through 31 December 2029.

I like Torrowland (2015) a lot on many different levels from the casting to the story.  All I could verify was a present day 2015 time frame, a Frank flashback to !952, and some undetermined point in the future. I personally think it sometime way beyond 2030. Ready Player One is set in year 2045, again outside of the poll parameters of being set 01 January 2020 through 31 December 2029.

As for the list, I don't write the movies, only list the best of what is available. I will be happy to list any more positive takes that have significant portion of the story set during the 2020's.

cinephile, again: this issue only becomes a problem with things like start of the new millenium which most people just assumed started in 2000 when it was actually 2001. Culturally decades are often accounted by their respective numbers so 20's will be 20's and 2020 will be included. I have a feeling even mathematicians won't complain about that, because if they did not in 2000 it will be awfully late to start. :)

Which of these past movies set in the 2020s decade do you most look forward to as the near future approaches?

urbanemovies I hope to make an extensive video essay somewhere near November (as the movie is set in November 2019) looking  at what it essentially got right. I already have a large list of what was very much spot on.

Very cool and a great idea? I am always fascinated by cinematic takes on the future. Both, when watching old movies to see much they got right and wrong, as well as, current movies to see how they view the future. It is interesting the level of detail some directors demand or don't demand, either as function of budget or creative priority/research to getting in right.

Thanks, I re-reviewed these MOVIE TITLES. most were listed on the honorable mention lists, While, 4/5th of the titles already listed are well voted (50,000+), most of these had a handful to only a couple thousand. I am a bit flexible on the floor, but less than 5,000 votes is a no-go. I also tried to keep out titles with only a token portion of the movie set during the 2020s. I also corrected the date of Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019) (as it was set in June 2024).

Yesterday (2002) is the type of international movie I am seeking, but with less than 1000 votes, it is hard to justify giving it a spot. I am still surprised I only have four major international movies that were set in the 2020s. I appreciate the help though.
