Live Poll: Ordinary Objects You'll Never See in the Same Way Again

List: https://www.imdb.com/list/ls021368151/
Poll: https://www.imdb.com/poll/pLDkKtilAkk/

What ordinary object will you never see in quite the same way as you did before seeing a particular film or scene in a film?

*Suggestions, as always, are very welcome. Thank you!*

Feedback requested: If I find other examples like 'It's a Wonderful Life,' do movies like that fit? (If I can't find similar examples, I'm assuming that it would seem strange among scary, odd, or disturbing scenes.)

FYC:

Business Card in "American Psycho"

  2. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0144084/mediaviewer/rm1587682816

The Tea Cup on "Get Out"

And I was thinking on Minny's Chocolate Pie on "The Help", but there's no image of that on Imdb.

Just saw "Bird": a cymbal, obviously.

These object-related lists might purvey a few "items" :)

Thanks, Elmo, so much! I had actually already taken some of the objects from the first list when I first made the poll, then someone else left me a link to it and I added a few more when I looked at the list again. I forgot about the second poll, though, and that one's even better for my list because more of the objects are more "ordinary," so I'll be adding some, for certain. This is great. :)

Great poll idea. I would rather suggest the teaspoon, than the cup of tea in 'Get Out', because the spoon was more of the instrument as the cup was. The stiring noise it makes in the cup and the hitting it on the cup.

Hi, Breumaster. I'm glad you pointed that out about the teaspoon in relation to the teacup, because I couldn't even remember the significance of the cup alone, yet likewise I probably wouldn't remember the significance of the spoon alone. Ding!

Yeah, that stirring noise and whole stirring action was very creepy. I do think the "cup of tea" provides context, though. I'm glad the image of the cup also includes the spoon in it. I'll add the spoon in the text, too. Thanks for the suggestion!

For me Se7en. But not  because of the reason in your list.
"What's in the box" scene kind of changed my life. When I see someone with a box like that, I imagine there's a head inside it. :/

For your consideration:
  • a dove (or better yet, yodeling), as in Mars Attacks!
  • a wooden latrine, as in Schindler's List
  • a tequila worm (not sure if "ordinary") as in Poltergeist II: The Other Side
  • a woodlouse, as in The Food of the Gods
  • a toilet bowl/commode, as in Look Who's Talking
  • a tiled subway station, as in The Wiz
  • a 1959 GMC Panel (not sure if "ordinary"), as in Bereavement
  • a 1959 Cadillac Ambulance (not sure if "ordinary"), as in Ghostbusters
I'd give a general honorable mention to any object featured in Maximum Overdrive (or in adaptations of certain other novels by Stephen King) or in Final Destination.

It should have been the featured poll. I like it most of the new ones. :)

I've lost track. Did anyone mention the bucket Jimmy Durante kicked when he died in Mad World, merging literal with the figurative?
