Are you sure you want to mix movies about real authors (like Tolkein) and ones about fictional ones?  Either way, sugg:
Funny Farm

I would agree there are plenty of movies about of movies about authors, as it stands, there will be plenty of omissions, This suggestion works better either being split into two or choosing between fictional or real-life. I think the better movies are the fictional ones, the real-life tend to be bit more depressing like, The Glass Castle (2017) .

good list, but as you say 'plenty of omissions'...(as an author myself, i try to watch as many films about authors as possible...)

it actually might be a good idea to separate the real from fiction, giving you two polls instead of one...

but anyway you go, i could give you a list a mile long...but two i desperately suggest to add...

'multiple sarcasms' with timothy hutton...and 'chinese coffee' with al pacino (my all time favorite movie...)

and i do agree with narnia...'funny farm' should definitely be there as well...

great poll idea paok...peace...

I would specify real-life in the question to define the scope. I also think
Genius (2016) is debatable as Max Perkins's is a book editor. Is a book editor an author? if the answer is yes, The Editor (I) (in development) would be another future option for the poll. Jackie O's Publishing Day Job to Be Chronicled in Film 'The Editor' |

Likewise, your split off poll Poll Suggestion: Movies About Authors has the same title and asks the same question, Which of these movies about authors is your favorite?. I would specify fictional in the question and title in that poll suggestion to define the scope. Otherwise, poll takers are left to guess what you are trying to do or even worse confused.

'Midnight in Paris' was very charming and filled with authentic authors!

Suggestion (can't believe I didn't think of this before!):
Goodbye, Christopher Robin
Not entirely accurate movie but interesting.

FYC:

Colette

If you're including poets, there are a whole bunch. I did a character poll about real-life poets a few years ago (https://www.imdb.com/poll/woYc8YhYPt0/?ref_=po_ho) that I'll probably redo as an image poll so I don't think it's necessary to include them but I'd suggest briefly mentioning, in the intro, that the list only includes prose writers, not poets.

Colette added to the list. I prefer to stay only with authors though and not include poets, thanks anyway.

Paok, I wasn't suggesting that you include poets - there would be too many. I was suggesting that you note that poets who didn't write a significant amount of prose weren't included. That justifies and explains the absence of poets beside Shakespeare (who also wrote in prose, of course).
