Live Poll: IMDb Poll Board's TV Series That Ended Too Early

We all have TV series that didn't last as long as we would have hoped for. Which TV series selected by members of the IMDb Poll Board do you feel ended to soon and should have gone on a little longer?

Limited to series that lasted one to two seasons.

Please add your idea to the list by replying below. Please limit to series that lasted only one to two seasons and I'll be more than happy to add to the list credited as your choice.

Ok. I guess if I only get one I'll go with Terriers.

But here are some others that are very high on my list - in order with the greatest at the start:
Pushing Daisies (#2 pick)
Sports Night
My So-Called Life
Lie to Me
The New Normal
Andy Richter Controls the Universe
Bunheads
Reaper
Eerie, Indiana
Surviving Jack
Voyagers
Forever/New Amsterdam
Sirens
Ben and Kate
Action
Wonderfalls
Profit

Bryan Fuller's extremely quirky Pushing Daisies had a lot of potential for future episodes. It would have been interesting if it shared the same universe as
Dead Like Me.

Better Off Ted was a fun, subversive look at corporate technology development.

Jen, I added Terriers.

Dan, Better Off Ted was a GREAT show. One of my all time favorites.

For your consideration:

Comedy: Marblehead Manor (1987–1988)
Randolf Stonehill and Albert Dudley are respectively the third generation owner of and butler for Marblehead Manor, a mansion someplace in New England, USA. Randolf is also heir to the Stonehill corn oil fortune. Life is seldom normal in Marblehead Manor. Along with Randolf's wife, Hillary, Jerry the Chauffeur, Duane the Handy Man, Lupe the Cook, Lupe's son Elvis, and Rick the Gardener comic misunderstandings abound. The inhabitants of Marblehead Manor also have a habit of dressing up as other people to comic effect.

Drama: Crusade (1999–1999)
A team of soldiers and scientists has five years to find a cure for a plague decimating Earth.

You have to be joking suggestion:
My Mother the Car (1965–1966)
The story of the relationship between a man and his mother, the latter having been reincarnated as a 1928 Porter automobile.

Theme Song:

Pilot: My Mother The Car 1x01 - Come Honk Your Horn
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=riOcOgUE-W8

This has been considered by some critics the worst TV series ever.

Dan,

I've added Marblehead Manor. If I have difficulties filling up the list then I will add your other suggestions. (I'm presently trying to limit to one entry per user to try to get as many people as possible a chance to contribute).

Thanks.

If I can suggest two:

Life (2007-2009)
I'll Fly Away (1991-1993)

If you want each of us to stick to one, I'd go with "Life."

30 episodes or less TV Series
Rome (2005) 2 Seasons 22 episodes
The Newsroom (2012) 3 Seasons 25 episodes
Dark Skies (1996–1997) 1 Season 14 episodes
Battlestar Galactica (1978–1979) 1 Season 21 episodes
Dead Like Me (2003–2004) 2 Seasons 29 episodes

I would second these nominations
Eerie, Indiana (1991–1992) 1 Season 19 episodes
Freaks and Geeks (1999–2000) 1 season 18 episodes
Firefly (2002–2003) 1 Season 19 episodes

??? I kinda wanted too see where it was going.
I wonder now if it was ahead of the curve or just not good enough.
Birds of Prey (2002–2003) 1 Season 14 episodes

Urbane,

Which show do you want to me to place on the list as your choice?

Freaks and Geeks (1999–2000) 1 season 18 episodes is double listed, needs to be consolidated to a single option.

Battlestar Galactica (1978–1979) 1 Season 24 episodes seems like the biggest crime, given it was a rating hit and I was the most disappointed of all the ones I listed it was cancelled.

Wikipedia
"Battlestar Galactica initially was a ratings success. CBS counter programmed by moving its Sunday block of All in the Family and Alice an hour earlier, to compete with Galactica in the 8:00 timeslot. From October 1978 to March 1979, All in the Family averaged more than 40 percent of the 8:00 audience, against Galactica's 27 or 28 percent. In mid-April 1979, ABC executives cancelled the show. An AP article reported "The decision to bump the expensive Battlestar Galactica was not surprising. The series ... had been broadcast irregularly in recent weeks, attracting slightly over a quarter of the audience in its Sunday night time slot."  Larson claimed that it was a failed attempt by ABC to reposition its number one program Mork & Mindy into a more lucrative timeslot. The cancellation led to viewer outrage and protests outside ABC studios, and it even contributed to the suicide of Edward Seidel, a 15-year-old boy in Saint Paul, Minnesota who was obsessed with the program."

Freaks and Geeks has already been added to the list, made a notation that you preferred it. I'm not going to include Battlestar Galactica since it has been rebooted.

Is there anything else you want to add?

TheMovieSmith,

If you do not get enough contributors to this poll and you have too many secondary choices, you can use the MOVIEmeter rank of the secondary choices to select which one go into your poll suggestion.

I've added everyone's second choice and a few that multiple people suggested. Hoping to leave space for a few others. If not I will add the rest to fill the list.

Would you mind correcting a small typo? The corrected version is below in bold:

We all have TV series that didn't last as long as we would have hoped for. Which TV series selected by members of the IMDb Poll Board do you feel ended too soon and should have gone on a little longer?

Thank you, so much. : )

Police Squad! Which was cancelled by ABC after four episodes had aired, because; 'the viewer had to look at it so they could understand the humor', to quote a spokesperson for ABC on Entertainment Tonight.
