Having seen 1917 (2019) and The Irishman (2019), I would like two put these 2 movies at number 2 and 3 respectively.

Just to make sure, you want the current 2 and 3 spots to be moved down or replaced with 1917 and the Irishman?

1.9K Messages

To be moved down to numbers 4 and 5.

I wouldn't have any yet - well, maybe one but it's hard to know. Most of the good films just start coming out around now. But I love that you're doing this again and am looking forward to putting a list together. :)

Understood, I have probably only one or two myself. Just thought to put it out sooner for people to post rather than later.

Man... this is gonna be a little hard, as I haven't cared for very many 2019 films (granted I haven't seen EVERY movie this year, but still).  Here goes:
#1: Toy Story 4
#2: Avengers: Endgame
#3: Frozen II
#4: Godzilla: King of the Monsters (because it's so cheesily great)
#5: I HONESTLY DON'T HAVE ANYTHING! :)

Well you have time; I don't think the 2018 went live until late Jan.

1. Parasite
2. Us
3. Joker
4. Dolemite is my Name
5. John Wick 3

A MUCH NEEDED rewatch of Midsommar might bring it up past the latter half my top ten and into this one.

TO BE SEEN (REMAINING FILMS THAT MAY CHANGE THIS LIST):
Portrait of a Lady on Fire (2019): Seeing this one IMMEDIATELY after work today.
1917 (2019): Disappointed that tickets for this one haven't been opened for preorder as I will do my damnest to see it on the Lincoln Square IMAX screen (the reportedly biggest screen in North America).
Weathering with You (2019): Unfortunately, I will be seeing this on Jan. 15th when it gets it's proper theatrical release.

Oh my gosh, Stephen, did you see 'Portrait of a Lady on Fire?' I thought it wasn't being released in the States until April? Oh, was it at a film festival? If it's in New York, I'm driving there to see it. Oh, how I miss NYC.

I Want to Eat your Pancreas, probably when I see this it will enter my top.

They must have moved Portrait of a Lady on Fire's national US theatrical release to Valentine's Day.

And yes. I already saw it when it was in an exclusive screening at the Angelika.

I have only seen 20 2019 films so far, so my top 5 is 25% of what I have to judge.

At this moment my top films are:

The Irishman
Ford v Ferrari
Avengers: Endgame
Toy Story 4
Shazam!

Hopefully I'll watch Marriage Story and Knives Out before the end of the year and they may get included.

Another unexpected change.

Could you change drop Toy Story 4 and add the lovely Klaus in its place?
Very recommended for this time of the year.

I have seen more movies now, and I am only missing Jojo Rabbitt from the Oscars.

Since this isn't live yet, my updated list would be:

The Irishman
Marriage Story
Ford vs. Ferrari
Parasite
1917

Sorry, I keep watching things and changing.

Please make the fabulous Jojo Rabbit my number one and drop future Oscar winner 1917 out of my top 5.

I have seen all the films I expected to have a chance, so this should be definite now.

Bumping this one to keep it from being buried by a more recent (similar) suggestion.

Maybe this should be a rule, you can bump your own suggestion once a month and 10 lists total for that month. Otherwise another user has to bump it.

You should bump it it's a good poll

My thoughts are, its a good poll when others want to respond. Suggestions shouldn't get lost on page 3 or beyond so quickly. We don't have that many users contributing.

This suggestion is so elusive to return to.

I still have a few movies to see (and there are unfortunately several I won't get to see, at least in time, because they won't be released where I live until much later this year) but I'm sure that's the case with everyone so I'm fairly confident that this will stay at least pretty much the same:

1. Waves
2. The Irishman
3. Parasite
4. The Body Remembers When the World Broke Open
5. Hmmm, probably Marriage Story; maybe The Two Popes

I know that I'll be seeing Little Women and Atlantics so it's possible that the list might change a little bit so can this just be my tentative entry? (I'm guessing that I'd love 'Portrait of a Woman on Fire' but it won't be released in the States until the spring.)

I'm glad you're doing this again this year: it's interesting to see everyone's choices.

added, and have a feeling/prediction I will be adding Little Women to your fourth spot in the coming weeks. :)

The Farewell
Parasite
Marriage Story
The Lighthouse
How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World

This year I have managed to see more movies than in any other and I am very happy about that, however the movies are still training and this is probably not my definitive top.
