Live Poll: "Game of Thrones" Season Eight Death Pool

Who will die first in the eighth and final season of "Game of Thrones"? Will it be a surprising, big splash major character, someone from Arya's kill list or an expendable minor character who has been in the background the first seven seasons? Analysis by "Game of Thrones" fan website, winteriscoming.com projects these characters have less than a 50% chance of surviving till the end of season eight.

Which of these "Game of Thrones" characters will most likely be the first to die in season eight?

The question still says "season seven".

And you need to remove two people from your list.

Thanks, I updated the list and made the corrections.

It is a bit of a quandary what to do with characters that were left in limbo or had no onscreen death. like Ilyn Payne, Ellaria Sand and Septa Unella.

??? possible 31-35

Richard Rycroft
Game of Thrones, Dragonstone
Maester Wolkan

Lino Facioli
Game of Thrones, Book of the Stranger
Robin Arryn

Hannah Waddingham
Game of Thrones
Septa Unella

Indira Varma
Game of Thrones
Ellaria Sand

Wilko Johnson
Game of Thrones, Baelor
Illyn Payne

While there are less than four months left to go until Game of Thrones Season 8, it's never to early to think about or voting on the topic of "Game of Thrones" Season Eight Death Pool, a popular water-cooler discussion topic prior to each GoT season. One writer's opinion and musings on the topic for those interested: 21 'Game Of Thrones' Characters Who Will DEFINITELY Die In Season 8

I think this poll suggestion would be better served by publishing it a few months prior to the season debut. A far better question to ask one month prior to season eight's debut and the series final season, rumored to a bloodbath 'Game of Thrones' Season 8 Will Kill Almost Everybody, HBO Hints might be Poll Suggestion: Who Will Be the Last Man Standing in "Game of Thrones"?

Unlike PS: "Game of Thrones" Season Eight Death Pool question it asks the opposite question and lists the thirty-five most popular, GoT characters still living that have best chance of surviving to the final second of the series. It lists the thirty-five characters with the most episode appearances prior to the season eight debut, plus the Night King. Amazingly, only thirty-eight characters have been in five episodes or more and lived to tell the tale, while well over named characters have died in the series to date.

Poll Suggestion: Who Will Be the Last Man Standing in "Game of Thrones"?.
At the beginning of each "Game of Thrones" season, one popular fandom question always is, who will die in season ...? As of January 01, 2019, only six furiously-paced episodes remain, in which the death toll will rise rapidly. The final season is rumored to be a bloodbath. A better question might be, at this point in the series run, who will live? One certainty, with over 750 depicted deaths and over 100 named character deaths to date, viewers know all too well that no character is above being killed off.

Which of these living characters that appear in five or more episodes has the best fighting chance to survive till the conclusion of the "Game of Thrones"?

Maybe Beric Dondarrion and Tormund both would be revealed to be dead in opening scene (after following the events of last episode of season 7).

I would bet against that scenario. It was a nice way to end a season with a great cliffhanger. But, it wouldn't be a fitting way for either warrior to die. I see both being killed off in direct combat. I also don't think GoT has a pattern of confirming viewers expectations, actually the opposite is true, where they always try to have surprising outcomes. Also, GoT is all about great death scenes, so just showing them dead would be a wasted opportunity. Lastly, GoT is efficient at wrapping up loose ends, so it won't be the last time we see the pair. Since, I think it would be unlikely they are just be shown dead. They will be  either injured or be shown miraculously escaping the army of the undead. However, I could envision both being killed off in direct combat with this horde.

-I totally agree with you.

And I hope that they surprise us again with something which we haven't imagine off.

In a way, I am actually less curious about what happens in season eight and more curious about fan reactions to it. HBO has been impressive in handling hackers, keeping plot details under wraps and managing expectations, so far IMHO.

That said I am bought into the rumored bloodbath 'Game of Thrones' Season 8 Will Kill Almost Everybody, HBO Hints. I have faith in the writing team to keep fans off-balance, as well as, entertained. But, most of all there a couple mind-bending GoT fan theories that I hope play out too and would like to see a The Usual Suspects (1995) like plot twist wrap up the series.

HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones’ Kills Bud Knight in Super Bowl Ad Surprise

“I didn’t see it coming,” says Conner Huber, chief strategic officer at McGarryBowen New York. She suggested the execution was done with no small amount of risk, but also appreciated both brands’ willingness to break with tradition.

My predictions thus far haven't been that great but I trust Peter's judgement so I'll follow his lead and say Euron.

'Really good poll. May I suggest a few minor edits to the intro.? ('below in bold: just three punctuation edits and one typo)

As to the choice, its a crap shoot anyways, it is best to pick someone you are certain is going to die and hope he or she dies early on in the season or in the first episode of the season. Now, that the timeline has exceeded the scope of the books, one can't even use that as a guide. Before, one could check to see where in the story line that last episode left off and make an educated guess based on novels. Even, that was risky, as the story jumps around a bit.

My pick would be Eddison Tollett, chosen on the basis, the more North you are, the more likely you are to die, Dolorous Edd, as the acting commander of the Night's Watch, is going to be in the thick of things with the Wall breech that ended season seven.

ruby, you don't want to trust my judgement here. I can barely recall what happened last season.

But I hope Pilou has a good death scene.
