Live Poll: From Film To ... Broadway?

They were great on the big screen, and maybe they have the potential to really shine on Broadway as well due to their captivating stories and iconic set pieces that were destined to be adapted for musical theater.

From this list of films below, which do you think would have the most amazing Broadway musical?

i would love to see a broadway show based on 'star trek II: the wrath of khan'...

but when i read the topic and the question, my first thought was 'what's love got to do with it', the tina turner biopic...

I think The Blues Brothers (1980) would make it into a really nice musical.

I think so too Bert - but do you think that the film has sufficient tunes to make its broadway transition too easy? (This would go against one of the parameters I set in choosing the films.)

Thanks for the input!

I think the soundtrack from the movie is perfect for a broadway adaptation. I don't think any new music would have to be written (or very little). The songs are very recognizable (but of course they are not original) and in my opinion would make a transition to a musical really easy. Or do you consider it too easy?

You're exactly right, the soundtrack is electric but I'd think because the songs are so associated with the film it makes its transition easier... I'll have to deliberate.

It wouldn't apply, but thought the news would be of interest on the topic.

"Will The Greatest Showman come alive on a Broadway stage someday? According to 20th Century Fox film chairman-CEO Stacey Snider, it's very possible!

While no details have been confirmed, Snider told The Hollywood Reporter that there are talks to create a stage adaptation of the Hugh Jackman-led musical film, following its box office success.
