Live Poll: Classic Cult Comedies

They're funny. Their ratings (higher than 6.9) indicate that their comedic effects were intentional. And put together, they have more followers over the world than a bikini snap from Kim Kardashian... or as many. You guessed it (especially if you read the title) these are the classic cult comedies and the question might surprise you... not.

Which of these classic cult comedies is your personal favorite?

You probably named the potential winner (or will it "Holy Grail"?)

I don't consider Delicatessen a comedy because it isn't funny and only makes a few attempts to be (still a good movie though). However, Delicatessen considers itself a comedy & a cult classic so it could be included on this list. My vote goes to Re-Animator.

Changed the "rating" limit to 7.0 instead of 6.9, these 7 movies can drop some day to 6.9 and I want to leave some room for new suggestions.

Still room for three more suggestions, any thoughts?

ElM,

For your consideration, if you will consider two shorts:

Thank You Mask Man
(1971)
Tells how the Lone Ranger hooks up with Tonto. With Lenny Bruce doing all the voices, this animation of a Bruce routine begins with local folks upset at the Lone Ranger because he won't stay around to be thanked after a good deed. So, he stays and finds he likes hearing "Thank you mask man." When their attention starts to shift elsewhere, he shocks and disgusts the townspeople with a final request.
Warning: profane language

Bambi Meets Godzilla (1969)
Bambi is contentedly nibbling the grass, seemingly unaware of his impending encounter with Godzilla. What will happen when the two finally meet?

I appreciate your suggestions, Dan. But two shorts out of 35 suggestions wouldn't do justice to all the little comedic masterpieces such as these two, even during the Golden Age of animation, they were many hilarious shorts that could qualify as cult... trust me, I'm a cartoon buff :)

ElM,

I'm aware that you are a cartoon buff and understand your reason for not including these two shorts.

For your consideration:

The Little Shop of Horrors
(1960)
A clumsy young man nurtures a plant and discovers that it's carnivorous, forcing him to kill to feed it.

The Loved One (1965)
Satire on the funeral business, in which a young British poet goes to work at a Hollywood cemetery.

The Abominable Dr. Phibes (1971)
A doctor, scientist, organist, and biblical scholar, Anton Phibes, seeks revenge on the nine doctors he considers responsible for his wife's death.

'Great poll, ElM. 'So many good ones that I'll have to deliberate a while before I vote.

FYC:
Life of Brian
 or Waiting for Guffman

Thanks ruby, I included both... i hesitated long about Life of Brian because but if it's not a cult classic, I don't know what it is... Meaning of Life is cult to a certain degree, but I don't think it has the same following as the two glorious predecessors.

What a great slate of memories!!! I want more votes, since there's barely a hair's width of distance between my choice (Princess Bride) and at least three others.
