Yes it is possible.  

It is possible, but I would say that it is a matter of perception: ComicBookDB only lists some reprints, while Comic Vine has a lot of reprints listed. X-Men comics were some of the more "exported" in Marvel's catalogues. Also, Comic Vine usually collects alternative variants of character (elseworlds) listed in the same bibliography, while ComicBookDB usually has alternative pages. Those on ComicBookDB, whole Ultimate X-Men line was not listed at all, while Comic Vine lists it, as well as known reprints. 

LD: Looking at https://comicvine.gamespot.com/storm/4005-1444/issues-cover/ I now understand where the number 8,034 came from. Storm's most common title is The Uncanny X-Men (252 appearances), but next come X-Mannen (Dutch, 243 appearances); Gli Incredibili X-Men (Italian, 223 appearances), and Ryhmä-X (Finnish, 196 appearances). I had been thinking only about American comics and not counting translations.

Right, I don't think I wrote comic book issues in the United States.  Marvel comic book characters are in comic book series around the world.

You been thinking about that with only Storm though, same applies with every comic book character like

 Wolverine (13,265) ,

Black Panther only made 98 appearances in Avengers, and that is series he has been in the most.  And Black Panther has been in international comics as well such as Panini Comics, his first page is has half international comic book series.

Compared to Storm, who has been in 252 appearances in The Uncanny X-Men series. 

It is strange.   If I made this list a 500 comic book series and higher, then I wouldn't have been able to fit all the black characters that have been on tv or movies.  And 500 issues seems average compared to over 1000 or 5000 comic books series.

Marvel comics is rebooting Avengers, X-Men comic books ... again.  :(

But this will bump up more Avenger characters (Blade, Shuri etc) that were not popular before Disney started making their movies.

Not a big comic reader; I will occasionally pick one up though. I do find it annoying when they reboot comics just because the movies are doing well.

Reboots actually happen for plenty of reasons, main one usually being the fact that characters and universes who exist for 50-70 years or sometimes more need to be modernized. And in modern times ten years actually seem to have critical difference as well, at leasy in the eyes of a publisher.

If someone wants to make a general black superhero movie poll, I think it is still available.  I know Blade and Shuri are not included in this one. 

I wish I could do it, but I won't be available to make any new polls this next month.
