LIVE POLL: Best 'Star Trek' Movies Recasting
Which 'Star Trek' character, in comparison to the original cast crew, do you think benefited the most (or was the least downgraded, if a Star Trek purist) from its recasting?

Spock degraded. Zachary Quinto is playing him too emotionless and cardboard. Even Nimitz found ways to put some emotion into the character. Remember he is half human. It ether that or the other actors playing Valcans around Quinto are not being emotionless enough to allow Quinto to show Spock's repressed human side by comparison - A.K.A. for Quinto to show how Spock is different from other Vulcans.

so...having said that...i would say mccoy benefited...not that urban is an upgrade by any means...just, well...he's the least annoying of the changes...
the worst...chris pine...he is atrocious as kirk...what a terrible choice and, if these films actually mattered, which they don't, certainly defames the name james tiberius kirk...

The remake film was my first contact with the original characters, and so I had no way of comparing them and knew if they did it good. Last year I finally started watching the original series (I have seen 2 out of 3 seasons) but they were the last version I get to met.
With this on mind, I must say the characters from the movie that I best remember are Spock, Chejov and Uhura. While Quinto was good, Nimoy is perfect and I wouldn't dare voting for him.
Chejov seems like not a great character in the series, and I feel his role is better in the movie, so he gets my vote.

Good poll! My vote would probably go to McCoy's "reboot."
For the benefit of people who don't know 'Star Trek' very well, I'd definitely suggest adding "Scottie" as the nickname of Montgomery Scott. (Montgomery "Scottie" Scott)
And if I may suggest one small edit: a comma after 2020.
