FYC:
1) Spike Lee (He'd be a glaring omission.)
2) Barry Jenkins (he made other films but he really should be on the list for one word: 'Moonlight')
3.) Sean Baker (made two of the most influential films of decade with almost no budget for the first; made shooting a film, or parts of a film, with an iPhone popular) (he's my favorite but the two directors above would be glaring omissions so much more important to include than the wonderful Baker)
3.) Ryan Coogler (he's been very influential; directed 'Black Panther' and 'Creed,' as well as the hugely influential 'Fruitville Station'))
You've got two spots open; to make room for another, you could take Nicolas Winding Refn off the list. He made 'Drive,' which was good but his other two films of the decade got Metascores of 51/100 and a 37/100 and you ask about the best directors, not the most popular. Objectively, I don't see how anyone could justify him being on the list and any of the four directors above not being included. (By contrast, 'Moonlight' got a 99/100, as well as Best Picture, Baker's films got scores of 74, 85, and 93, and Coogler's films scored 85, 82, and 88.)
I think Eastwood could also easily be removed. Out of the seven films that he made this past decade, only one was considered to be better than mediocre and only marginally. If this were a poll about whole careers, Eastwood would make sense but not for this past decade.

I agree with Ruby that this is a great poll suggestion.
Unfortunately, somehow your list looks like it was corrupted. I have not seen this happen with a name list before.
The list have two #3s:
3. Denis Villeneuve
3. Alfonso Cuarón
... and two #7s:
7. Ethan Coen
7. Jeff Nichols
When I export the list, the numbering stays the same.
I copied your list to one of my lists and that corrected the numbering problem.

10. Post the link to your new list here.

Now I just have to decide on my vote - it's going to be tough. :)
