then i'll wait to vote when you do the top 60, because even though 'league' isnt the best movie by a female director, it's better than this collection, which is not very flattering to female directors at all...

rocky-o, to be honest, some of the greatest are there in the Top-30. Beau travail (1999)Sedmikrásky (1966) and The Hitch-Hiker (1953) are all superb and very much underrated and they totally deserve to be in the Top-30. It's hard to distance from mainstream popularity of the likes of American Psycho (2000) and Point Break (1991), but I love those, as well.

I read that and I wanted to suggest a poll but then I gave up because, seriously what's with the triple inclusion of Kathryn Bigelow in the Top 20 or 25. She's a good director but that's overkill.

At least Bigelow's films are films that many people have seen, which is helpful for poll purposes.

I have seen 5 titles. From them, The Hurt Locker and Lost in Translation were incredibly boring films whose appeal I have never understood.

The other 3 are Winter's Bone, We Need to Talk About Kevin and Selma, I like all of them and rated them with an 8, but having to choose I would probably go for We Need to Talk About Kevin. It has the strongest performances and the most interesting story.

I love 'Lost in Translation' but I agree with you about 'The Hurt Locker.' There were things I appreciated about it but mostly I also never understood the appeal. I also agree that 'Winter's Bone' and 'We Need to Talk About Kevin' were very good - and yes, strong performances. I haven't yet seen 'Selma,' which I kind of can't believe.

I think it must be Zero Dark Thirty. - Thank you, however, for drawing my attention to 'Orlando'. Tilda Swinton is a great actor and a huge favorite of mine.

Great poll and list. What a tough choice: there are five or six that could get my vote. I really love some of these films.

Winter's Bone (2010) or Zero Dark Thirty (2012). I'll throw my vote to Winter's Bone as I voted for Zero Dark Thirty (2012) the last poll it was featured in.

Haven't listened to the Winter's Bone soundtrack in pretty long while. Might put it on tonight and listen to it to fall asleep to. Gorgeous score and bluegrass songs.
