Nice. I see a lot of actors being pushed in the general direction of moving beyond being mere character actors. I'd be curious to know who has spend the longest time working as a character actor.

Loved Fringe but more of a "The Wire" fan
I've been meaning to watch that forever.
Lance Riddick is one of the main cast in "The Wire", I was actually disappointed with the Fringe for not utilizing his character to the fullest but it made sense with the storyline.
The Walter-Olivia-Peter dynamic was the main focus.
I do agree with you though. Even more than Broyles', I would have liked to see more of Astrid's personal life. She was a loveable but underutilised character.
Yeah, I totally agree with you. Astrix should've been used prominently in the latter seasons.
Lance Reddick, but for his TV work rather than his character acting in films.
Judy Greer or John Carroll Lynch for their work as character actors.
I found the Vulture article interesting.

Is this a joke?
No Brian Cox or Brendan Gleeson?
The article lists criteria including:
- If a performer has been nominated for an Oscar, that performer is ineligible.
- If a performer has won a lead or supporting-actor Emmy, that performer is ineligible.
- If a performer currently works primarily as a lead, that performer is ineligible.
Cox and Gleeson have both won Emmys.
odd, I don't see how that disqualifies them from being character actors
I've seen only 3 of this Goggins guy's films and don't remember him; and none of the shows in which he appeared in more than a few episodes.
I am annoyed that he is ahead of Lynch and Reddick. 🤣
That's interesting, and I would have to speculate that Goggins is well-remembered for playing the hell out of his role in The Hateful Eight, in such an entertaining and comical scenario.
Haven't seen it - just looked it up, and that's probably the reason for him being in the lead.
I should clarify that the "entertaining and comical scenario" is extremely dark and disturbing outside of the style of comic relief inherent in the work of art by Quentin Tarantino. The Hateful Eight might have felt much more grim without intriguing relationship that developed between the characters respectively played by Jackson and Goggins.
How can we improve?
