'Great face-off! I'd vote for the heroes but I bet the results will be pretty close -- even with Lecter being the top villain, the heroes should still get a lot of votes. Great face-offs make me so happy -- that sounds really odd but it's true, lol. 

May I suggest one edit?

Oh, I'd also suggest changing OR to "vs." or "or:" I don't think it's that big of a deal but the editors like the poll titles to adhere to AP style guidelines just like all other titles on the site.

Thanks for the feedback Ruby; Who doesn't love a great Face-Off every now and then :) I love even more when the results are extremely close like your Brando vs. De Niro "I Could Have Been A Contender" Face-Off (they were basically tied! That's the best, in my opinion.)

Thanks, Kyle, for the little edits. Oh yeah, I love "hotly contested" polls, especially face-offs. I bet this one of yours will be really close -- it'll be interesting to see the results. You mentioning my "Could Have Been a Contender" poll made me wonder where the votes are now: It's 316 - 313 in favor of Brando -- I think that's the widest gap there's been in a long time. 

I also love great face-offs because sometimes there's a dearth of them and that makes it more difficult for poll admins so thank you, thank you, thank you! :)

Wow, 316-313 is so close! That's the sign of a well-thought out Face-Off no doubt!

I also love great face-offs because sometimes there's a dearth of them
I had no idea, if anything you'd think there'd be a lot more of them since they only require 2 or 3 options making them a lot easier, and more simple, to create. Interesting nonetheless though.

And I just saw this went live, so awesome! Excited to see the results with this one, I hope it's a "I coulda been a contender" kind of closeness :)

by_contention = Percent(1st_Choice) - (1/Number_of_choices)
This metric gives an overall measure how well all choices are competing. The smaller the number the more competitive the vote. At the minimum value of zero, all the choices have the same number of votes.

hotly_contested = Votes(1st_Choice) / Votes(2nd_Choices)
This metric compares the top two choices. At the minimum value of one, both choices have the same number of votes.
