I want to put color to my text in poll suggestions - How to?

Hello, out there. :D

I always see polls with colored text in the options. I want to do that, too. I know formerly it was described in the FAQ, but I can't find it anymore. How can I color parts of text for make it more clear to view?

I don't think it is officially supported any longer, I am not sure what the full list of colors that is supported on IMDb lists. But, I have and still use [blue]sample text[/blue], [red]sample text[/red] and [green]sample text[/green] in the past by simply square bracketing the desired portion to be highlighted. I bolded the code to demonstrate, but in actual use, it is not in bolded form. However, it is the same technique that you use to bold sample text text.

Note, since it isn't officially supported any longer, it doesn't show on the saved lists and is only visible when the poll is published. FYI, using color may be more trouble than its worth. So, triple proofread to be sure you have correctly formatted your code to avoid errors. If you bold and highlight together: [red]sample text[/red] the color goes on the inside brackets and the bold on the outside brackets.

What text formatting can I use in my list descriptions?

We support formatting using [Square Brackets].

 • italic
 • bold
 •
Spoilers
(What are spoilers?)
 •
Quotations
Text formatting no longer works for title and name (people) lists. However, text formatting still works for image lists and polls.

Also, make certain you ONLY use lower case for formatting tags.
bold works for polls.
bold does not work for polls.

Thanks for the information. I must do way too many image polls, I never even noticed that it was limited to that type of list. I can see how it slightly more useful on that type of list.

Hi, Breumaster.

In addition to the listed by urbanemovies, some more colors:
[orange]
[purple]
[yellow] - this one is bad for polls where it's hardly recognizable on lighter background
